One of our cats has decided that she must sleep on me at night, which would be OK except I toss and turn a lot, so have to set the cat down while I move, But she comes right back. Since she is so little and I'm so large I worry about rolling over on her,
That happens to me all the time, I'll say to hubby "I really need to go to the bathroom but I don't want to disturb Jack on my lap". But...I've never seen a dog do this, he's like an equal opportunity lap sitter, he'll sit on my lap for awhile then all of a sudden he decides he needs to move to his dad's lap, like a dog on a mission.
"Trump toot today: “Walmart just announced that Prices for a Thanksgiving Dinner is now down 25% since under Sleepy/Crooked Joe Biden, in 2024,” the president wrote on Wednesday night in a post on Truth Social.“AFFORDABILITY is a Republican Stronghold,” he went on. “Hopefully, Republicans will use this irrefutable fact.”

WASHINGTON — The D.C. man accused of assaulting a U.S. Border Patrol agent with a Subway sandwich was found not guilty by a jury Thursday, the culmination of a three-month criminal case that was both an absurd spectacle and a deeply serious clash over protest and prosecution in the Trump era. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/dc-sandwich-guy-not-guilty_n_690b8d7fe4b09953a606304d
The president boasted to Fox News’ Bret Baier: “If I didn’t have tariffs, we would right now, the entire world, would be in a depression.” He added, “I did this for the world.”

Look, I’m not going to judge whether or not Jay Jones texts were over the line so much that he should have lost.
However the fact that the Republican Carrie Coyner who leaked the texts lost and Jay Jones tells me what the universe thought and that’s good enough for me.
Mother in law's going to be in the rehab place for her knee and hip for a couple of weeks and all she can talk about (besides the "Indian Man"--actually her doctor) is how much she misses the dog and cats. I'm thinking we should get a camera, like a nanny cam, to put in the living room where they all hang out so that she can watch them. Has anyone had a similar thing?
More First World Problems: Loving that my new company (same old company, but apparently the Canadians now own us) makes us use an online HR application that only partially works and doesn't list all my vacation hours but now that we are apparently in a new fiscal year, it doesn't matter, because I just lost all but 40 of my vacation hours which I usually take in November and December to use up before the end of the calendar year (which is when we lost them under the old system, pre-March). Fuck you, Canada. Or at least the little touch of Canada that employs me and just fingered all of my vacation when you claimed that 200 hours carried over, not 40.
Those m-fing conservative SC "Justices" are so utterly, transparently corrupt: sure, the president's gestapo can throw people who don't look like me and don't have security details like mine that the taxpayers are paying for into jail to rot without due process and also by the way shoot them for making unflattering remarks; but doing things that might reduce the growth of my 401K by a couple of percent is clearly crossing the line. M-fing m-f-ers.
That "report" by the KY Sec'y of State reminded me of a voter I spoke to several years ago when I was serving as a poll worker in Maryland. During a primary election ( for which MD only presented the two major parties in closed primaries ), I had a potential voter start making a fuss because he couldn't vote. Of course, he was registered as a member of the Conservative Party, so he was turned back at the checkin. He was so totally an ignorant asshole who so convinced of his position that we almost had to call in the sheriffs to remove him ( he did eventually stomp off ).
It sounds like whomever were calling in to the Sec'y of State in KY were just as ignorant as this guy - and if they're that ignorant, maybe they should have their votes counted.
Just saw this list of airports at CBS News That will face a 10% reduction in number of flights allowed ( hmm - are they a "reliable source" anymore? ):
"The list is not final, and it still could change as the FAA has not issued a final order formally requiring airlines to cut their capacity.
Here's the list, in alphabetical order by airport code:
I'm not sure I agree - because I don't see any political advantage in restricting travel convenience. "Service brownouts" may continue if the admin manages to reduce air traffic controllers, as it is in the shutdown - but, as it is, the "Project 20205" playbook that Republicans adhere to calls for the hiring of 2000 new air traffic controllers - and the OBBBA included $12.5 billion to update our air traffic control systems ( which, as you know, are years out of date )
With this many airports at reduced flights, every single airport in the USA is affected. Right before the annual Thanksgiving horror travel season. I wonder how many people are going to miss Thanksgiving dinner with relatives because of this? Now all we need is a massive storm system on November 24 or 25 or 26.
I guess you must be thinking of Joint Base Andrews, just outside of DC ( which, of course, does not handle any scheduled commercial flights ). The three commercial airports in the DC area ( National, Dulles, and BWI ) are affected.
I wonder - since they talk about cutting "traffic" at these 40 airports ( some of which serve as "hubs" for airlines ), how do they handle incoming planes that arrive from non-throttled airports? I think the impact of these reductions will balloon across the country, not just those 40 ).
Palm Beach International? I guess that's a pretty low traffic airport ( I flew into it once, many years ago ) - One report in the Palm Beach Post says that, since the start of the shutdown, some 25% of landings at PBI have been late ( the report does not say anything about delays in takeoffs ).
You do know that a Republican Congressman from the area has "proposed" renaming the airport after the Felonious Fuck, as well as a four-mile stretch of the major artery ( Southern Avenue ) between PBI and Merde-Lardo.
That 42,000 number is just from private employers ( and was a little more than was "expected" ). What isn't included ( as usually done by the BLS ) were government hires ( and I believe that includes state and local government hires ), nor does it talk about the layoffs that occurred during the month - as many as 153,000 private employer jobs were cut during October. That brings the number of jobs lost since the beginning of the year to 1.1 million ( most statistics I see on job creation are no later than Jun 2025 )
This article is on CNBC. There were more job cuts in October than there have been in 22 years. So if there were reliable government stats, they would surely show overall negative job growth.

I used to have a cat that would go utterly limp like the one in the TABS! gif. One of his many nicknames was "Lumpy Boy."
Every year, millions of Americans suffer the tragedy of Kitty Paralysis...
This is actual footage of my husband with his mom's cat who is SO in love with him!
What good is hoomans if you can't get a lap nap?
I love that gif!
"Don't you get it, hooman? Lap is for naps! I'm not done with my nap, so I'm not done with your lap!"
I really gotta laugh about that one. You didn't really think that would work, did you? ROTF.
You've got to stand up at the same time

Having a sleeping kitten on his lap is why Odin had to sit out Ragnorak in Samurai Cat.
Cat patiently teaching human "stay" command.
Kitten has decanted herself comfortably.

This is a deliberate attempt by this corrupt administration to accustom the population to service brownouts that restrict travel convenience.
Despicable.

Did Sean Duffy come up with this "plan"?
Actually, I was referencing the other end of the flight in Florida. Which a poster yesterday was kind enough to identify for me.

That's the one.
As for renaming everything after him, the GOP knows they are dealing with a narcissist so that's the best way to curry favour
Economy added another disappointing 42,000 jobs last month. Joe Biden's economy would add that many in a week.
I haven't looked but I'm pretty sure Donald Trump's net job creation from his first and second terms combined is still a negative number.
