I am suspecting a typo--the DOJ even says each charge is subject to a max fine of 1K.

No, just the fact that a lot of very heavy hitters used whatever influence they could on Garland, who seems not to understand just how dire the situation really is.

The story, as always, moves slowly but steadily onward. Phil had to take a bit of a break for due to shoulder surgery and Cheyenne did a filler, but now they're back to the main story again.

I think criminal contempt gets punished, but doesn't force his testimony - it's one and done. He can probably pay a fine and walk away, same as his shithead boss has done all his life. Civil contempt is the gift that keeps on giving: you get hammered repeatedly until you wise up.

I was under the mistaken impression that the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia would be handling things like grand and petit jury trials and preparation, as well as plea agreements. Thanks for the information.

Can you explain "inherent contempt" because no one else here can. And the rules that a lawyer posted on here last week do not define inherent contempt, they just list the words.
