Isn't it mean of the Democrats to do that? I mean, Trey, et. al. had barely four years to look into Hillary's every move the night Benghazi happened. Why can't the Democrats have wrapped up investigating a vast and multi-year series of related events in a couple of months! UNFAIR!!

A POTUS pardon only works for federal crimes. If Mueller hands his findings to, say, the NY AG, and he prosecutes then there are no pardons. Any of the financial stuff, or perjury related to the financials, could easily be prosecuted in NY.

If I ever get in trouble, I can just say I'm planning to run for President the next year so I don't have to testify. Neener neener neener!

In that case, I hope Bannon has good security. I doubt Putin will stop at stitches for snitches.

I think he can plead the 5th.

Last line, true dat...however, Steverino is very much INSIDE the ratfuckery. Mercers/Cambridge/Bannon did most of the legwork to target Russian efforts on social media - and, likely, at polling places.

Actually, Gowdy resigned from Ethics Committee, after arranging exoneration of Dirty Devin, still-'recused', yet remarkably active chairman on HIC.

As of now, 'no grand jury; no grand jury - YOU'RE the grand jury!' Looks like Bannon's visit w/Mueller will simply be a cozy little fireside chat...maybe peppered with a little 'strong language'?

I'm starting to rethink my position on enhanced interrogation.

If he does, his lawyer will have to make a good-faith proffer to a judge demonstrating how his answers might tend to incriminate him. And even if he succeeds, Mueller can give him a grant of immunity and make him talk (thereby "cracking him like an egg," as someone once said).

He can, and if it comes to it, her will. It's only a possible scenario though. I think it's going to go more like Nixon/Agnew. They are both going to resign before the charges come down.

I get that. I also understand that Mueller is using the NY AG's office as his dead man switch. Schneiderman also knows it and is going along. Federal charges are better and carry more weight than state charges, but we'll take what we can get.

I think if the federal charges work, or at least the threat of federal charges, and they resign, it is possible NY will just let it go. Mission accomplished when they are out of power sort of thing.

I could be wrong, and time will tell.
