We wish we knew who did this so we could give 'em credit! Now that Betsy DeVos has been installed as Secretary of Education, all sorts of fascinating plans to dismantle the public schools and replace them with "choice" are getting thrown into the maw of Congress. Hard to say which ones will pass, but one of them, sponsored by Iowa Rep. Steve King, is a real stinker:
I love it, if for no other reason than to watch the mental gymnastics of the moocher states trying to fight it without admitting their states are moochers.
In Georgia several years ago, someone in a really rural school system was mean to a homeschooling parent, and so their state representative got a bill passed that removed the registration of home-schoolers from local systems (who then reported the numbers to the state) to the state DOE, where I worked at the time. All the parent had to send to the DOE was the name and age of the children involved and the name of a parent. No SSNs (necessary for providing special needs services) or even what school district the kids were in. It wreaked havoc in many small ways, but at least they were free from gummint interference, man.
Yes, I'm still around. I changed my name during the "vagenda of manocide" thing and I had been reticent to change it back, thinking it might confuse people. I suppose I was wrong. I hadn't realized so many people had remembered my original handle.

What was your second name? VagendeanceIsBestServedCold? Ha! If so, I never knew that was you!
Yep! That was me! It was also, West Vagenda, Manocidal Mama for a while, also, too.
Ha! I was worried about you. I thought something had happened to you. I'm glad to find out it was just a covert name change.
SHE'S TRAINING HER ARMY OF JIHAD PIGEONS! RUN!
Yeah... Great! This is what we have to look forward to?
It's the lack of melanin.
I always think of "Right to Work" laws.
They turned him into a... No, hang on, that can't be right.
" WVa, Iowa, and TN..."
One of those is not like the others.
Steve King -- So stupid, even stupid people are angry!
If they called it the "No Sister Left Unfingerdiddled," it might not get past the subcommittee.
