It's madding to get to the Bonnie Dobson 1962 recording of "The First Time ... " because I would need to subscribe to something I don't want to subscribe to. Here is a version by Anita Dobson that seems to sound like what I recall Bonnie Dobson's version is (from 60+ years ago.) Anyway, this is the Anita Dobson version:https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Before being ousted, the last speech Rep Justin Pierce made was amazing and every word rang true. Reminded me of the Mario Savio, Berkeley campus 1964 speech. (Sorry no link).
Love it, but it is a little sad that Joan Baez sang this song in 1963 and we still haven't overcome the tyrants and bigots. We're getting closer, though. Just not in Tennessee.
It does appear that both young men will be reinstated. There will be two special elections, though, and that costs money. The Repubs should have to pay for them.

I regret that I have but one upvote to give.
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down is not folk music. It's commercial pop music.

He represents Nashville, right? Pretty sure singing ability is added to the water like fluoride there.
Only on the Repub side. For the Dems, it's free publicity showing once again how inept and racist the Repub party is.
I think we've gone past red into the Dark Ages.
