Trump's polls are deep underwater, and his minions are desperately feeding the MAGA base before next year's midterms. Charlie Kirk's death is a godsend for these fanatics. Controlling the narrative is par for the course.

It actually brings to mind the theory that political martyrdom can boost support.

Ta, Robyn. What must it be like to wake up Miller, thinking, "Whose lives can I fuck up today?"

The first and third paragraphs of Pee-Wee Himmler's little screed sure sounds like an accurate description of US conservatives. If I didn't know who posted it and it didn't contain the bits about a person in the news recently, I would have guessed it was an overly dramatic liberal describing MAGA extremists and why they need to be opposed.

These people project so hard it can be seen from space.

Because when I ask myself how best to describe Stephen "Gollum" Miller, "good, righteous and beautiful" are the first adjectives to come to make nd...iiiiick!

It isn't actually left and right that is the driving force here. Left and right are economic theories. There is also a division between authoritarians and egalitarians, which represent different forma of government - from the authoritarian extreme where one person decides everything to the egalitarian extreme where everyone has a seat at the table. It is predictable that people favoring an authoritarian form of government would also favor force to keep it in power, and it is force that leads to the violence. It is possible to be on the left and also authoritarian, and it is also possible to be on the right and egalitarian. But we aren't seeing that much these days. I suspect that is by design - and doesn't completely answer, but applies to, the question of why people vote against their own interests (though I certainly can't prove that.) So, with all the authoritarians sucked into the party which also supports economic systems of the right, and all the egalitarians left with the party which also supports economic systems of the left, it's going to appear that most political violence is on the right.

This can't be true, no less a personage than JD Vance just said the political Left was a much larger part of the problem, You can't be suggesting that a member of this administration would tell a "porky"?

They TRIED to disappear the report.

What they've accomplished is enough people finding out about the attempt that the coverage of their trying to do so is now in more than one language

Oh, please! Stephen Miller doesn't give a flying fuck about Charlie Kirk. If anything, the shooter took out Miller's competition.

The Wayback Machine has thirteen different copies of this study. Hell, I may have one myself. I am not very diligent about cleaning up old PDF's after I've read them.

I'm just saying that Fascists can't make this report disappear. And frankly, everybody with a blog or a Facebook page or whatever should post a copy of their own. Just to make sure that search engines have plenty of alternate copies to display whenever someone wants to read up on domestic terrorism.

"Recently, the Right has fallen madly in love with a narrative — a narrative that goes a little something like “The Left is violent and we are so very frightened! They want to kill us all because we are so pure and beautiful and they hate that!”

It's giving "They hate us for our freedom" vibes.
