I have no ideas what these three things are. (Task Rabbit, Uber, AirBnB) They don't seem to be things that <strike>we</strike> I have out here in the wilderness.

It's too late for this year, but next spring I could maybe rent out the bear den next door after the current occupants leave, because they won't be back again until late fall. I just have to make sure that no one finds out that I don't actually own that parcel of land.

Actually, that's a revival of a fairly old Wonkism that has fallen into disuse for some reason. It's good to see the classics restored.

I don't think that it would be very lucrative to rent my car out when I'm not using it. Any potential customer would need to use a Jeep (or soon, a SnowCat) to get in here in order to get it, and if they already had that, then what need would they have for my car?

I was in Mexico recently and expected to see a lot of New Pope photos in shops and homes, because Latino!Pope. But I'm please to say that the Little People are not so easily persuaded. Alls I saw was the usual photos of Classic Pope.

Happy to say that I've never seen a photo of Pope Rat in any home or shop anywhere in any country I've ever traveled in.

I haven't yet read Hitchen's book on Mother Teresa but I usually agree with him. And she had the misfortune to die on the same weekend as Princess Di. At least the Sunday Times print edition includes the book review section. Although I find the New York Review of Books to have more 'oomph'.

The Right kept telling anyone to the left of the last two Popes, "Just become Protestants." Sauce for the goose.

Or as I describe my local Letters-To-The-Editor Xians, "More interested in sending people to Hell than in getting to Heaven."

Are they trying to scare Harvard away from the money? Because it's just a wee bit tasteless to call it filthy money, and in the next breath insist that you should get a piece of it.

I don't have anything again Christie beside not agreeing with him on a bunch of issues, but is he *really* the best the Republicans think they can do?

Some can, and some can't. Most intriguing.
