Catholic mothers suffer the most. True fact. This post originated with an offhand comment in the Wonkette Sekrit Chat Cave; we were talking about one of those nice evangelical stunts to "help" sinners by telling them, in gory detail, precisely how hellbound they are, out of a spirit of "love." After a three-sentence summary of this Incredible True Story of Faith, Yr Editrix insisted that I write it up for Our Wonkette.
That and three days hanging from Yggdrasil is why I like Odin despite the whole patriarchal god thing. And Loki because you gotta like the trickster--even though you're going to be the tricked sooner or later.
"Williams wrote back to confirm that extortion is not a legitimate method for bringing people to Christ, even if they’re idolaters and godless, (and caffeinated) Unitarians.
I'm sorry about this, Doc. In my experience these kinds of family horrors can be put in a mental box to keep them from hurting one further, but that takes ongoing effort. But with enough time and distance, the effort required diminishes, till one day you wake up and realize it truly doesn't hurt anymore. If you haven't quite gotten there yet, here's to hoping that day comes soon.

So my family wasn't the only one the Catholic church managed to twist into knots? I would have never guessed...
If Michelle went to the Lutheran church "for the singing", that should have been a big clue right there....
Not really - they talk to their invisible sky fairy, who tells them it's fine. End of problem!
You maybe shoulda gone with the ghost hunter and spiritualist...I'm sure he's prospered since then.
