I'm sorry about this, Doc. In my experience these kinds of family horrors can be put in a mental box to keep them from hurting one further, but that takes ongoing effort. But with enough time and distance, the effort required diminishes, till one day you wake up and realize it truly doesn't hurt anymore. If you haven't quite gotten there yet, here's to hoping that day comes soon.
