Picturing him using an assault rifle to defend himself is like picturing Adam Rippon marching with the Westboro Baptist Church. Highly unlikely, but comical

I'd say that there's no way that Bush and company could not have known what they were doing was flaunting the Constitution and would be easily abused even by "responsible" administrations. Obama's problem, in my opinion, is that, while his abuses weren't as bad, he laid the groundwork for liberals everywhere to suddenly not care that their government was running roughshod over Constitutional principles. Despite the number of times I've repeated my criticisms of Obama's foreign policy, drone murders, and failure to pressure a response to our torture problem, I do recognize that he was in other areas a champion of better causes. But he also inspired complacency in liberals on policies that were wrong under Bush and continued to be wrong under Obama.

And just like that, my good mood has evaporated. Fuck you, John Kelly. Fuck you right in the ass with a rusty butter knife. Yes, John, all the way to the prostate.

Sounds like a good life. One of my biggest regrets was smoking cigarettes.

A bit different, but still: here in WV, bail is set at stratospheric levels, & even if you can post bond, you must remain on home confinement. The ACLU is really trying, arguing that everyone should receive recognizance release unless detained on a violent charge or deemed a flight risk. The legislature is refusing to consider PR bond FOR MISDEMEANORS - & those can be set at up to 10k - & any drug offense, no matter how low level, is out of the argument, we're talking baby steps here. Innocent until proven guilty? The fuck you say!

These assholes make me ashamed to be human, much less ashamed to be an American.

For damned sure it shouldn’t. I should have phrased it that way.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Felonious Pardon AZ, Joe Arpaio will be happy to advise ICE on their detainee policies for a small fee.

Carry on. The language has been taking a beading lately.

Isn't that what Lord Marbury always called Leo on The West Wing?

I used to wonder how German and Polish citizens could work at concentration camps, following orders to starve, torture and kill innocent people, including children. I wonder no longer. ICE employees are "patriotic Americans," today's equivalent to the "good Germans" of WWII. And they are proud of taking crappy paying jobs that allow them to be used as fighting dogs. Something terrible is brewing in our country, and when it is finally over, after many deaths and crimes against humanity have been comitted, these filthy devils must not be allowed to blend back into the general population, not this time.
