Watch them claim a religious exemption.

Woody Allen is on CNN. He's masquerading as Alan Dershowitz. But I'm pretty sure it's Woody Allen.

If this keeps up we might as well declare America a Theocracy.

ISIS is really nothing compared to this. They have failed to even come close to damaging, even slightly, America's foundations. Meanwhile Christian fundamentalism is eroding those same foundations from the inside out and have been for over 2 decades at least.

And yet some people are still hopeful that John Roberts will bring some ethics to the Senate trial.

For him to bring ethics he'd first have to find someone to steal them from. He votes against voters'r rights. He votes against women's rights.

Roberts is a great Justice if your a rich, white man who claims to be religious.

Ding ding ding. They *are* trying to destroy the public school system. Why should all those filthy poor people be learning to read at all, and why should the American taxpayer be forced to fund it? How is that fair to people who don't even have any children? Education, like healthcare, will become something reserved for the elite, something you only deserve if you can pay for it... just as it was for the majority of human history. God help us.

Cuz in Ohio there is pending legislation saying you can't take points off a kid's exam or homework for incorrect answers if the answer they gave is their sincerely held belief.

So who do I contact about withholding my taxes? I've paid to fund military operations I don't agree with, and every day my taxes are spent by a political party opposed to almost everything I believe. But I'll (not) be damned if I'm going to donate money directly to church-funded schools. It's past time to take to the streets- I'll be there.

Maybe he and Donnie are working out an action plan to eliminate corruption from the Israeli government so they don't risk losing their American funding like poor Ukraine.

At the very least, if they're receiving public money, they better be subject to the same anti-discrimination rules as the public schools, which means they can't refuse to hire gays or fire unmarried teachers who get pregnant. They also shouldn't be able to base hiring on religious affiliation anymore than a public school can.

'Course, we know that the only change will be receiving public funding, and it'll be business as usual.

I have to bite my tongue around a friend who buys all the bullshit about the wafer actually becoming Christ's actual flesh. The first thing she does when she gets to church before Mass is go to the sacristy to order a gluten-free host because of food allergies.

Along with the creep factor behind the Catholic obsession (far worse than Protestants imho) with virginity.

Our parish had a family that owned a popular Italian restaurant. They did bitchin' spaghetti dinners. I've never been able to do a sauce as good as theirs.

But, publicly-funded institutions have to follow rules against that.

I kid. Religious schools will be able to do whatever the fuck they want, and we'll be expected to bend over and spread 'em.
