I refrained from the cheap shots, but it is a fact that she looks the part.

Yow.. one of the funniest threads I ever read was on a Latin American travel site, some English guy wanting to know if it was safe to attend matches here. Yeah, unlike England...

I hoped that was it. Thanks.

People like her don't hate everybody--just everybody who isn't like her.

And I expect that makes her smile, not frown. At a certain age we all get wrinkles and they don't seem to form specific patterns depending on characters. They're just wrinkles.

I used to feel guilty about my windows, but then I realized that dirty windows reduce the risk of bird strikes. So now I look at my filthy windows and feel virtuous as hell.

I'm a southern gal, born, raised, and currently residing in Arkansas (with time spent in Massachusetts, Oregon, Utah, and Idaho) and driving across the northern 1/3 of the state from my current home to my childhood home to visit my dad takes us through a VERY homogenous region absolutely FILLED with "yard art" that many would consider "junk", not to mention the oh-so-tasteful confederate flags for sale everywhere. Truly lovely /s

Absolutely. My 13-year-old niece is a ballet dancer, and she has been attending the ballet with her mother since she was 3. She has always LOVED ballet, and has always been absolutely perfect when attending, because her eyes are GLUED to the dancers on stage. Now, take her to a dramatic poetry reading, and you will probably get a different child altogether...

Yes, exactly! And those performances (with school groups) are almost always special performances specifically for "families" so that everyone attending knows that it is likely to be a different experience.

If Ms. Whacks wants to find some trashy white people who would blow her theory out of the water, she can come to my town. She’s picking the best of one group and comparing it to the worst of another. She’s comparing assholes to oranges.

It's true. I had a very unreal bit of correspondence with a copy editor there who to told me at least 4 egregious usage errors were "their style"

Try rural Maine for true trailer trash yards.
