There is a 'rumour' that Hegseth wants to be 'in on the kill'

After seeing small boats blown up he binge - watched the videos for hours. Then he forwarded a query: could the 'fire' button be pressed from a remote location'? By Commander H, from HQ?

Apparently the initial response was unpromising: involving mods to plane etc. but then some engineer tasked with the request suggested holding transmission of the video until the signal 'button pressed' arrived, a delay of a few seconds, then letting Commander H think he had initiated the firing.

The engineer got a grudging 'not bad, it would be kind of like a video game. One problem: if we do it and it leaks, you will have to be disappeared'

He makes it embarrassing to be a drunk white guy .

If it weren't for women and people of color the military would be vastly undermanned.

"The president is not a racist or a sexist."

He just believes that White Men are better at everything than Black Men and all women

Trump and his ilk major in minors. We all have 24 hours a day and it’s shocking what the Trump admin focuses on, all too often the focus is on petty racist and sexist crap.

Awwww James Toklan (principal Strickland in Back to the Future, the bald Captain who hates Maverick in Top Gun) died.

This year sucks.

Ta, Robyn. Definitely not.

As they used to say, "Payback is a medevac."

I may have mentioned this before, but it is even more timely now: over a hundred years ago, Mark Twain wrote a rebuttal to Hegseth's shameful preaching; it's short and you can read it here: https://archive.org/download/WarPrayer-English-MarkTwain/warprayer-MARK-TWAIN.pdf

Thanks, I'd never seen that before somehow.

For Twain's take on imperialism see "To The Person Sitting in Darkness."

Thanks, will do.

You're welcome. The impact of those final paragraphs gets me every time I read them.

"The president is not a racist or a sexist."

He said that with a straight face?

My God.

T L Mills's avatar

I'll bet he did say it with a straight face but maybe, possibly, with the sly thought that it was the one thing that would give Hogbreath pause.

noname's avatar

They're professional liars, no surprise there.

Goin Green's avatar

They will just say anything won't they?

kmblue187's avatar

Why does Hegseth pace back and forth during his announcements? Looks like a carny game where you shoot at ducks.

kmblue187's avatar

And an attempt to pump himself up.

Nerves. Insecurities. I had a boss who did that to extremes and I nicknamed him The Dancing Monkey.

Driscoll is very clearly maneuvering to take over the SECDEF position if/when Hegseth gets blamed by Trump for no change in the debacle of our war with Iran.

I'm not entirely opposed--of all the civilian "leaders" in military roles in this administration, he seems to have a shred of decency. His last holiday message to the Army was clearly mostly drafted by him, and addressed in candid terms him learning how he needed others to lift him up and help him during Ranger school in the winter, and how everyone needs help--the ultimate message was about suicide prevention and checking on your buddies. It was a weirdly heartfelt and real message for someone in this awful administration.

Another crazy Christofascists in the Trump disaster!

Was I wrong to take him at his word when he said his blatantly white nationalist tattoo was really just something-something about knights he picked up as a lark at a renaissance fest?

T L Mills's avatar

Yeah, I'd be very surprised to learn that Hogbreath "larks" around at Renaissance festivals--and I sort of doubt that tattoo booths that offer tats of that nature are common at such events---I would think that a Renaissance Faire would be way too woke for that alcoholic idiot.

Nope; pretty sure those tats are Petey's deliberate choice to emphasize and validate his personal agenda.

You had that thought too, huh?

Doesn't the use of surelypetes violate the Geneva convention?

Michael's avatar

They do. Also the cluster bomb munitions reportedly used in Tehran.
