I don't work for the publisher any more. I worked there in the 90s and did the first, second and third editions in California and two in New York, and was working on one in Florida when I quit. Here is the link to the current edition of the California one: http://jamespublishing.com/...

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I gather from what you've posted that you work in the legal field. My hat is off to you, because, although I flatter myself that I am emotionally resourceful, I could not do likewise. I know that it would be emotionally devastating to me and I lack the emotional fortitude to navigate such an environment. That being said, I want to say that, based on my observations over more than a decade, Judge Persky is in no way an outlier. His opinions may seem outrageous to those who have not been intimately involved, but his smug demeanor is indicative of the comfort he feels in holding these opinions. I wish there was some way to hold these Judges accountable for their prejudices, but, despite the emotional devastation I have experienced and observed, I am at a loss for solutions. I am, however, always open to any suggestions as to how to use my experiences and those of other unfortunates to alleviate any future suffering of this sort. I tried, and failed, to reform a broken system while in the grip of it. I will never abandon the hope that I might prevent future suffering by bringing this issue to light.

I am a victim to a Stanford Campus Atrocity Case but further victimized by the miscarriage of justice treatment of this case from some malicious and COWARDICE hidden judicial officers from Santa Clara District Attorney's Office led by Mr. Jeff Rosen; I am small and weak but still have the courage to ask WHY;

LadyLaz,

Fascism is alive in this case, which made this case far more serious than a simple Campus Assault; I filed a web complaint right in front of the general public, that'll do it, and this public challenge will also be seen by the California State Bar Association;

>>" Clarify what? Do what?"

___Clarify Scheler's false accusations and all the retaliatory fascism crimes from those fascists on side of Gabriele Scheler, and also Clarify the miscarriage justice handling of this case through years; Do bring those fascists to justice;

Clear enough?

Also, true fact, a couple generations ago, this was actually a sincerely held point of view, legally and socially. Thank you MADD for changing that.

i can see leniency in a petty theft case, but not in a violent one. and rape IS a crime of violence. i'll bet if it were a drug case, he'd have thrown the book at him. but he has a rich daddy, so prolly not.

"The defendant appeared not to be a murderer until the night he shot up a nightclub. Therefore, he has the character of a responsible gun owner except for that one little slip-up. Therefore, the Court will not punish the defendant in a manner befitting the act of multiple murder."

Hm. NRA reasoning, as applied to rape. Doesn't seem to work that well does it?
