Guestblogger DDM here, again, to splain how Sen. Vitter is being a total dick.Sometimes Congresscritters, because of their nature, decide to be total dicks, just for funzies. Since 2011, the GOP has found a secret stash of dickatude, so they are busily being dicks all over the place. Let’s explore one example: Sen. Vitter (R-RedLight District) is either a very inquisitive man (unlikely) or is being an obstructionist dickhole to Pres. Obama’s EPA nominee Gina McCarthy.
When I regularly biked back roads in Jesustan, PA, I perfected a technique for delivering a solid kick to the snout of any dog who tried to nip at me. It was so satisfying, I started looking forward to my daily duels with the mutts. The damned animals were no smarter than their owners, and kept coming back for more, so I got plenty of practice, although eventually they learned to keep at a safe distance and just yap useslessly.
You can save time, and cover all the bases, with Ten hottest celebrity moms who are going to lose everything in the coming economic collapse.
Diluted dish soap does no harm but tastes terrible. And I too am a dog-lover. And the unleashed stupid car-chasing dogs we used to have to squirt with soap-filled water pistols were in Michigan.
And then there's all the lawsuits being filed by Evil Eugene Scalia in an effort to strangle Dodd-Frank in endless paperwork so that it can never be implemented, while simultaneously the GOP calls for cutbacks in staffing at the SEC, CFTC, etc.
So here's the thing. Harry is an old-line Senator. He doesn't want to eliminate the filibuster, probably because (1) he's used to it and (2) he thinks that it is a sometimes valuable obstruction to over-hasty legislation. Or some combination.
There are also other Democratic Senators who at least partially share his views.
It is fairly unlikely, IMO, that he could have gotten a majority to vote to eliminate the filibuster. There are Democrats who would have voted against that. Blaming Harry Reid for not doing this is wasting your breath.
Now, there are any number of possible filibuster reforms that could be proposed -- limiting the number of filibusters per Senator per session, prohibiting filibusters (or "holds") for appointments below Cabinet rank, possibly even limiting how long a filibuster can delay an appointment confirmation before an up-or-down vote. You'll notice that few (zero?) Democratic Senators have leaped forward with many such suggestions.
Most Senators, once they become Senators, are fundamentally in the business of continuing to be Senators. Blame the Founding Fathers.

If those two started swapping stories, any fly in the room would abandon his shitty diaper in disgust
Especially his morning constitutional. Diapered down, of course.
Crawfish etouffé libel.

Thanx, Babs.
Can committees order the Sergeant-at-Arms to compel attendance like the full Senate can in the absence of quorum?
God, do we
Hah! Do you have any idea how fast these fuckers breed around here? It's been "Cancer Alley" for around ten generations now
Georgia Pacific doesn't appear to make diapers, but they and Invista might well sell products that go into making them.
