Thoughts about possibility of Bondi disbarment?
They already refused to investigate an ethics violation claim that Norm Eisen's group sent down there about her some months ago
But things may get so bad, depending on how much more comes out about how much criming she's done -- which is why it's always important to keep records -- that the FL bar may be forced to do something or lose their own ... accrediting status as an organization, or whatever they have down there
And maybe there are enough other FL attorneys who'd be discredited if they don't act that they'd also pressure the bar
A few weeks ago, I had an enjoyable conversation with the local mayor. I told him I was concerned about the rise of fascism in our country, and to his credit, he didn’t blink an eye at my wording. He said are you concerned about ICE? And I said well fascism in general, but yes ICE in particular.
He said that we had one instance where they came up here and detained a woman. He said, thankfully she’s back with her family, but it was “terrifying” And he talked about the importance of resisting on the local level, and the power inherent in that. He said that we had a great assembly recently elected, and they all stood together on this, and “not on my watch, that’s not how we do things here.” And I thanked him for that and acknowledged the courage of his stance.
I’m struggling to find words to describe how I felt about that. This is just a dirty little working man’s city, and the resistance is a candle flickering in the tempest. But I’ve never felt more connected, or more proud of this place.
Whether it’s Chicago or a tiny little burg holding onto its footing between the river and the forest, this is really a fight for the survival of humanity, compassion, honor, and decency.
The Mayor in my little town leads the weekly protests outside City Hall. He does it as a private citizen but it tells us that we have a good guy in charge here.

I had found out about fossas a while back, with other cat-shape guys like linsangs and binturongs, but I didn't know how SQUEEEEEE they are!
