If there were Constitutional hurdles to new states being added, then our flag would be missing 37 stars, right?

Where were all these 'Constitutionalists' in 1959 and 1960 when Alaska and Hawaii were added? And, might I add, they're not even contiguous to the mainland portion of the US.

The Republican party is effectively a conspiracy to loot the treasury. Any semblance of a governing philosophy outside of that is incoherent at best.

Considering that the running theory about Megs McCain's hair and makeup among the commentariat is that she's alienated all of her gay friends, I say petty away.

Once again, this is something the repiglicans do better than the Democrats - at least historically.

Softening what we want to do to try and please these "moderates" (in Congress, or just repig voters) only weakens our own side - the magats still vote magat 100.000% of the time.

Someone should remind Collins that it was an act of Congress, NOT a Constitutional Amendment, that moved the capital from Philadelphia to D.C.

Obama was poorly advised in 2008-2010, and to an extent he projected his own rationalism onto the Republicans: he'd just beaten them harder than they'd been beaten in a generation, surely they'd have to moderate in order to maintain power. He was wrong, and it's cost us dearly.

Also Obama, like most of Washington, puts too much stock in the "Team of Rivals" view of government, that you need representatives of both sides to truly have an effective government. If there was any idea I could consign to the flames, it would be that one.
