I seriously don't understand why that is so hard for some people to figure out. Run on the popular stuff- govern on the more controversial stuff that's going to need a bunch of explaining- away from the roar of the campaign trail- to convince people.
It bugs me that "health for all" is being twisted to emphasize that it means "offering undocumented aliens subsidized or free healthcare". Of course it does, but thae prospect is enough to send the masses into hysterics.
What is about "for all" that most people don't seem to understand? My sister slopped and fell on a curb while a tourist in London a couple of years ago and fractured her elbow - and she had less hassle with the NHS than she did with her ( employer-sponsored ) insurance company when she returned ( Don't worry, she was a progressive Democrat through and through - no "conversion on the road to Damascus" there, just appreciation )
Or just dumb. It didn't help that all the candidates raised their hands when Chuck Todd asked them if that would apply to undocumented aliens. That was bad politics. Of course millions of voters are going to object to their tax dollars going to someone illegally in the country. It's one of those things that is simple to demagogue over. It doesn't matter that it's in our best interest to not have them running around sick and that "for all" necessitates even the undocumented ones- by the time you've finished trying to make that complicated, nuanced argument, your opponent has long ago won by saying "he wants to give your hard earned money to a bunch of criminals". Who do people think voters are going to listen to, the candidate making some complicated long winded technocratic point, or the guy yanking the strings on their emotions with some bumpersticker slogans? This is why Dems lose- they're too busy trying to appeal to people's intellect instead of their lizard brain and they'v already lost before they even started...
The definition of a Libertarian is someone who is perfectly willing to pour his own concrete freeways, dig his own sewer lines, put out his own house fires, obtain UL certification for all his own electrical wiring, personally maintain all his own roadways.....just let him keep that $800 a month he pays in federal taxes. Right?
Many congrats gorgeous lady. Whenver i wear heels now ( after my knee surgery) my partner stays close in case my leg decides to not cooperate. Oh well..I guess i need to be content with being 5ft 3. https://media1.giphy.com/me...
Oh, that would be brilliant! I would just love to see him try to come after her record as a decorated helicopter pilot. Maybe she'd whip off one of her legs and wing it at him on stage!
The fucking algorithm should be so fucking easy a goddam zygote could do it. You just take the English, shit polite sauce all over it, and add "eh" at the end.
For instance, the above sentences in Candian:
The algorithm might be relatively simple, if it's not too much trouble and if it is, then I apologize. You just take the English, remain ever courteous, and add "eh" at the end, eh?
Would it kill fucking Google to do one fucking simple thing for a fucking change?
Yes, you are being uncharitable, because in fact my comment history will most definitely show me giving praise to Sanders when he deserves it. In fact, I've spoken to the much more nuanced point that while Sanders was nowhere near the first to push for universal coverage, let alone M4A (something you guys love to claim even though it's not true), he does deserve credit for bringing the issue forward again. So thanks for once again presenting a blatantly dishonest assessment of me, because it is apparently the only way you can argue your position.
I used to but found out I automatically have her On Demand.I record Rachel every night. I'm old, I get up early (fucking CATS) and I can't sleep after watching politics
This ought to be interesting

People are just horrible fuckers, aren't we?

Kudos, but careful with the high heels. Walking shoes better for anything over a mile. That's the Mommy in me.
How about cuts to our obscenely bloated military?

Expect to see Jon Stewart on Colbert with his rebuttal

Yay! I have a tangential relation to this post!!

'The country's growing debt.'I haven't the slightest idea how to address the blatant hypocrisy here.

They've done that before.
