Conservatives, yes conservatives (surprise!) came out against the measure due to the fact that the government shouldn&#039;t be telling people how to treat animals humanely, with regulations.

Hell, in France you have to register your pets and the government sends you a notice each year to have their shots updated! And they don&#039;t allow dog fights either.
