Oh, everyone knows it's a lie, but if you try to call them on it you get the whole shouting back and forth and prepared denials and ducks and dodges and such. Plow into it, discuss the further ramifications of what they just said and watch a deer in the headlights look as they now have to dig deeper into the lie. Then you report on how they have no fucking clue what they're doing.
Example: police spokesman says "they were following procedure" for some obviously terrible officer involved shooting. Ask "what procedure?" Pull out a copy of the procedure handbook and ask for the section; subsection and when they can't identify it talk about how the spokesman doesn't know police procedure, can't name the one they're suppose to have followed. Everyone knows he lied, everyone knows it doesn't exist but you put a different kind of egg on his face.
Lady MS here: Back when I got my first Gateway, used to turn over my downtime to SETI. They would use it to analyze data coming in from the universe. Perhaps DOE should ask for volunteers...
I'd be happy to toss another ten or fifteen terabytes into our hosted server, or maybe see if our small ISP would discount for a whole box just for this...
