Oh, come on. Tell the truth. You started laffing. Was it when Marie Antoin-romney said "You People..."? Or when Mittens introduced the "Binders of Women"? When the story surfaced about their poor dog and the cross country trip (not funny, but typical)? Or was it when the Samuel L. Jackson "Wake the Fux Up" video was released? Did you miss that one, cuz it's "same as it ever was"?!?https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Include the cost of continued health care, just to mention one item, for the child. Unplanned pregnancies can ruin people's lives.

It wasn't on the Reuters front page for very long. I brought it here because I hope the Wonketters can get it around a lot more people who need to know.

The "labor force participation rate" is NOT the "percentage of Americans working". It is the percentage of Americans who are either working or actively looking for work. It has been declining, and will continue to do so for a while, because of the number of Boomers (like me) who are retiring (aka "removing themselves from the labor force"), but not yet dead.

This statistic has almost nothing to do with the "health" of the economy. It describes demographic trends.

If you want to look at a statistic that includes discouraged workers, and those who are working part-time but would prefer to be working full-time, that is the U-6 unemployment rate. Which was 14.0% in January 2009, and is now 9.8%. Which is not as healthy as we'd like, but is nowhere near the worst in modern history.

Ted Cruz is full of shit, and you should be a little more careful with your use of statistics.

Liar for Jesus: "Ted Cruz Renews Pledge To Support Radical [Fetal] Personhood Amendment" [effectively outlawing contraceptives]: http://www.rightwingwatch.o...

"I have never met anybody, any conservative, who wants to ban contraceptives"

"The Duggars Seem So Nice Until You Meet Their Terrifying Political Agenda - They push their crackpot anti-science beliefs behind the scenes in Washington too."

Oh? What might that be?

"They have now been granted six years and counting in which to widely promote a lifestyle based on an extremist belief system dubbed “Christian Patriarchy” that involves the absolute submission of women to men. They hold crackpot anti-science beliefs that a network with the word “learning” in its name should be rather ashamed of, such as that birth control pills cause miscarriage and that evolution is a lie."http://observer.com/2014/12...

Yep, this explains Ted Cruz and the Tea Party fundie brigade: Reuters: "U.S. IUD use attracts new opposition from anti-abortion groups"

A rapid increase in the number of U.S. women turning to intra-uterine devices to prevent pregnancy has prompted escalating attacks on the birth control method from groups that oppose abortion.

IUDs work primarily by preventing sperm from reaching an egg. But they have come under fire from anti-abortion groups because, in rare instances, they can prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus. Those who believe that lifebegins at conception consider blocking implantation to be terminating a pregnancy rather than preventing pregnancy."http://www.reuters.com/arti...
