I'm sure they're like any other college or university: if you want to learn something you have to attend class, pay attention, and do the work. (Implying those men did none of that).

Yes, absolutely. And it works. When I told my wing-nut dad that immigrants have lower violent crime rates than Americans at large, he said, "Tell that to (the name of a person murdered by an illegal immigrant who the right wing media were hyping)". I pointed out that a friend of mine was murdered by a white person long ago and asked if he thought we should kick all white people out of the country, too. "That's different," was all he could respond.
