Just as people calling out racism are the real racists, people calling out homophobia are the ones who are "intolerant," and abused wives are (OBVIOUSLY) the real abuser, Tennessee representative (and hog farmer!) Andy Holt helpfully explains that the Humane Society of the United States is the "disgusting, reprehensible" group
Johnson's is great and we hope to emulate their success. The farmer I work for sells our produce and pastured eggs and pork at the Cedar Park market on Saturdays and Mueller on Sundays. We're just starting a CSA program. Scott Arbor is another fine farm outside Seguin that sells in Austin and San Antonio. I'll also put in a plug for Cake & Spoon and Jesse Grifith's Dai Due foods.
I hesitated posting on this story; I work with pigs and in my younger days used the epithet "drunken pig farmer" as the ultimate put-down. I'm not drunk as yet though I'm working on it so I will continue. Our pigs are raised on pasture, given free reign to roam and relax, eat and sleep, and treated with as much kindness and respect as it is possible to do with animals raised for food. I do respect and love them. The time comes when they are sent to be turned into lovely, organic food. And at a later age and with a much more decent life than the typical 'big box' growers provide. The Humane Society does great work and that work is greatly needed. I've no qualms or complaints about vegetarians or vegans; I support many of the issues they champion but I feel meat can be raised that honors the animal, rewards the steward farmer, and delivers a quality, healthy product to the consumer. Almost all of these Big Ag toadies are the worst kind of hypocrites and liars. The future of our food culture shouldn't be dependent on mega corporations that think profit before quality or market share before proper treatment of the animals and other foodstuffs we need and want to consume. You may not be able to buy (or even find) locally produced food but remember the alternative to few companies controlling what you can eat is usually a higher-priced and more difficult to find locally produced food available only in certain seasons. Listen to people like Mark Bittman and Michael Pollan. And if you ever meet Rep. Andy Holt tell him he smells like hog shit.
Or as Michele Bachmann would say: &#039;Thou Protesteth Too Much&#039; <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.c..." target="_blank">" rel="nofollow noopener" title="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/26/michele-...">http://www.huffingtonpost.c...

Rep Holt&#039;s post script: &quot;I&#039;ll cunt punt the next bitch who lobbies against one of my bills.&quot;

Shouldn&#039;t Kentucky be feeling just a bit skeeved out by now?
Pigs is pigs. And that&#039;s not limited to just ones that provide us with pork products.
Suuueeee! Squeal like a pig. Fucker.
Personally, I liked the rape story about the female sailor a lot more.
good eye. i thought there HAD to be a grammar error in there somewhere.
I imagine one of his pigs (Napoleon is my guess) is reading &quot;Eats, Shoots, and Leaves&quot; right now.
Tennessee: The state that keeps on giving.
The man truly loves his pigs. Then he kills them and slices them into ham biscuits. For love.
&quot;Tape and Rape&quot; is not to be confused with a now-defunct New Dehli bus service.
