Why can't kids learn about the Middle East the way their parents did, ya dern galoot? In a great victory for Tennessee religious freedom, a state representative is pushing a bill that should satisfy all the terrified parents who are pretty sure the state's public schools are
Fine. And, dear lady, did you forget to exclude religious schools in your little fun bill? Because now allllll those lovely christian schools and preschools are gonna be forbade as wellso suck on it
Also, has some local hillbilly started a petition to get this guy kicked out of the Tennessee school system? His defense of Islamic history is obviously an attack on Christianity, and he should be punished.
Obviously they can't include Egypt, since the Pharaoh was considered a living god, or Rome, because Christ, or the middle ages with the Crusades, or the Reformation, or China due to Buddhism, or Japan with Shintoism. Based on his concern with the level of (non)religious indoctrination, no history at all in 7th grade for TN students, then?
To be fair, don't think you've got the attention span to do the whole indoctrination thing. Any nutters are a happy accident.
(And Jen, if you are insulted by that, remember; I have an English accent. Reread that in an English accent - Matt Smith/11th Doctor is probably the closest reference point you'll have. Now I'm raising an eyebrow provocatively....)
But if she gets it passed, at least until it gets overturned as a violation of the 1st Amendment, that means they won't be allowed to teach the development of monotheism, and Judaism, and the Ten Commandments....
Don't be silly, we don't grow terrorists, we have a lone wolf problem

Like jeebus, it's real if you believe it.

Also, Judaism and early Christianity get covered in 6th grade

You ain't teachin' nothin' about no god unless it's the raght vershin of our Jesus (tm).
You're right, Heywood, I'll believe it ... 'cause it makes me giggle.
Wonkette, I am so disappointed in you. Not one crack about Rep. Butt's name. Do I have to pick the low-hanging fruit for you?

I have faith in George Washington as a demi-god. And Saint Ronnie. Quick- get to Tennessee and set up religions worshipping Republican icons!
