Trump Claims Democratic Candidate ‘Eats Meat’ and Then ‘Throws Up All Over the Place’

President Donald Trump bizarrely claimed Wednesday that Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico “eats meat” only to “throw up all over the place” afterward. (D)ubbing the state representative “Tala-creep-o,” Trump said Wednesday, “Now he says he loves meat. You know what he does? He eats meat, and he goes outside, and he throws up all over the place.”

The president made the declaration to a crowd of Republican lawmakers in the White House Rose Garden during a dinner event.

At one time, this "my opponent is a vegan" would have been part of a campaign to paint a person as "one of touch with the common man". But now, it seems to have become its own thing.

The only fun fact I knew about her (other than the big stuff in the '60s and '70s) was that she was Christian Bale's stepmother until her husband's/his dad's death in 2003.

And then she ceased to be his step mother? Is that how it works?

I can't believe 9/11 is coming up on 25 years. I sill vividly remember how that day played out for me. I remember hearing the first reports of a 'small plane' hitting the side of a building in New York on my way to work. By the time I got to work, it had turned into the chaos that was that day. CNN wouldn't load on my computer because it was too overloaded. I had a radio on my office, so I listed to it all play out and had to visualize most of it until I got home later and could see the images on the TV. I called my elderly parents in the late morning and told them to turn on the TV so that they were aware of what was happening. Driving past the big international airport on my usual route home from work, it was eerily quiet - no planes in the sky, no rumbling of jet engines taking off. That night when I went to bed, I laid awake most of the night, watching the news channels replay the incredible scenes and give updates. It was a day that changed my outlook on life forever.

My mom, a US Customs Inspector who lived in the Dallas metroplex, was in Houston for a work trip. She got in touch with my brother in NYC (I don’t remember who called who) and then she and coworkers were put on buses to go home. My brother assumed Mom would tell the rest of us, but obviously that didn’t happen. So both of them were unreachable all day and we were worried.

TootsStansbury 🇺🇦's avatar

We had a TV at work. We were outside smoking cigarettes and trying to figure out what was happening when the pentagon one flew over.

Bobathonic's avatar

I happened to take leave that day*. I saw the second plane impact and knew it was no accident. It was a shocking day for me.

*I work in DC and would have been caught in the clusterfuck.

I worked for a division of one of those airlines at the time, so it was exceptionally weird. Some of my coworkers were pulled off their normal projects to do "information lockdown" tasks. I remember thinking that I wish they would pull me so I had something to keep me busy because most people were walking around in a zombie state.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Republicans accused Biden very publicly and very loudly of doing what Trump is doing on disaster relief and it made a political impact. Even though it was a lie.

Our party treats Trump denying aid to blue states and cities like a fucking footnote. Theres barely any noise made about it. Hardly anyone even notices it’s even happening.

Get it the fuck together, Dems.

Stranger Than Friction's avatar

Dems should urge members they trust to go to the microphones and tee up at least one complaint about this regime every day if not every week, whether asked about it or no. Then remind voters why they should vote blue, so they have some power to do something. Then we get to hold their political feet to the fire. Oh, is that why they aren't speaking up? /s

<Idiot not going to September 11 memorial because they won’t let him give a Trump rally.>

Good, because fuck that guy, he doesn't care one whit about any of it.

Bad, because time was once that this would have been condemned by EVERYONE, media and denizens of all political stripes.

Still shocking for yrs truly because this fascist death cult as governance is still new to me.

Yet another proof point that the only thing Trump cares about it Trump.

.

Just by showing up and being appropriately solemn he could probably bank some serious points for the GOP at large.

But he's incapable.

Geebuzz, that Brian Beutler piece... Stridently asking the world at large, "House Democrats! What the fuck is 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 with you?!" prolly not the best way to start the day. It 𝘥𝘰 get the blood moving, but hardly in a cardiologist approved manner

"Yes I do think the next governor of Florida should investigate Ron DeSantis for embezzling money from poor children to stick in his wife’s foundation!"

Everyone should be investigating because trust is scarce. The FBI used to be the Big Gun in public corruption investigation, but something happened...

Emulating a bright, smart charismatic fellow who not only knows what he's doing philosophically and politically, but practically? Technique and practice so fluid and easy that people are happy to listen to him and impressed by what they hear?

"Nah, he's a young socialist I hear...so nope."

The 10 percenter, rent seeking tax collecting road to riches... All the privatization millionaire BASTARDS have decided that too much is not enough and are gunning for OBSCENE BILLIONAIRITY. Dean Baker is too kind...
