I'm ashamed of my state of Texas. Yet, some righteous people stand out, such as Craig Watkins.BHow the fuck is it that in 1996, we were we still sitting all white juries to try persons of color.

It is crazy how much more expensive it is, and not something I think most people are aware of. When California was debating our death penalty with two ballot measures in 2016 (the one speeding up executions unfortunately won by a small margin), it costs the state an extra $150 million per year to maintain death row than it would to convert the roughly 600 people to life without parole. The state hasn't executed anyone since 2006, and 13 people in the roughly 30 years before that. It is appalling that we still have it, and I was happy when Newsom put out the order preventing executions from resuming.

Look ... if we're gonna have death panels, we gotta make sure that they're being run by the white people!

Right! Right people! I meant to say "right," okay? Sheesh, one little mistake and this mob comes out for a lynching!

That will never be known or confirmed, ever. It just won't.I'm on the death penalty only when extremely heinous side. And no, I won't go into detail.

My point is, its got the word 'death' right in it, so it doesn't get any more real or serious, so every avenue and every piece of evidence must be exhausted. Not using evidence intentionally and still putting anyone to death is a crime in and of itself.

I have always felt life in prison is the worst punishment possible.

This is just one problem with our completely broken, rotten, corrupt criminal "justice" systen. Every aspect of the system is dysfunctional and unjust. Many Americans are happy with it. That is the biggest hurdle.

THIS! The main reason why all of our country's dysfunctions and injustices endure is that too many Americans--too many of my fellow white Americans in particular--do not see them as dysfunctions and injustices.

What is it with the cops and prosecutors?

Are they just too egotistical to admit they can fuck up, or is it usually something more deeply evil than that?

They use minorities to hide their crimes, what else?

Maybe if the people on death row in Texas had themselves legally declared fetuses?
