I almost never see cats with that body and fur here—I wonder if it’s a regional thing? All the cats I see are variations on Simba and Lil Feller basically. Not roundy squash kitty.
A lot of the Japanese cat videos feature these kind of cats.
I noticed when I was in Ireland, that the cats had different shaped heads than I am used to. More rounded, compared to the triangular heads here. I think there are regional variations.
The poor cat! You can just see the cute thing there going, "What the fuck, Aristotle? You said that it is in the nature of the earth to call the things made from it back to it, and it's NOT FUCKING WORKING. Look at that thing the earth won't call back. Just sitting there. And the earth is doing jack shit about it. I think maybe your theory of gravity needs some work there, buster."
I am scared of the consequences of admitting that none of the three cats* who have lived with us showed any interest in knocking things off higher things onto lower things. Does it count that our kid went through the obligatory Guardian of Gravity stage (making sure gravity still works by dropping things all the time so mom and dad have to pick them up)? My favorite moment from that time was the kid's discovery that helium balloons fall in the wrong direction. The look of horror/amazement/confusion was priceless.
*four, counting the one we fostered for a little while because she needed to be out of her current home, but her new home was not yet ready to receive her
One day early in their joint tenure I found the cat fishing milk bones one at a time out of a box that was open on the coffee table, and throwing them down to the dog.
She's also been known to drop pencils off tables for him to chew on.
I am giddy with joy at seeing your gorgeous, multi-generational home and family. It's so cool to see a confident, strong matriarchy in action (with apologies to Shy and the Good Son, who I suspect wouldn't argue with that characterization). I salute Grandma Donna, in her "old hippies never die" T-shirt, for handing down her passions to you and the whole clan. What a legacy! Last, but far from least: your home is a model of how to lovingly care for an aging parent in cognitive decline. Absolutely beautiful how happy and in the moment she is. Bless you for sharing these private moments so generously; they give hope by showing that joy and inclusion are the best treatments for age-related disabilities.
Crying big ol tears at this precious family moment (and especially for your dedication to making special moments for your dear Mamacita). Don’t worry about DR’s sudden attack of stink eye. When she is my age and she is Thinking Her Grown Woman Thoughts, this will be one of the moments she regards as her favorite.
> Lauren Windsor asked Chief Justice John Roberts the same leading questions she asked Samuel Alito and his rag wife, and there is actually a correct way to answer them!
That was largely bullshit though, as evidenced by his record. He just uses slightly less obvious justifications for his horrible stances, and is smart enough not to share them with a stranger.
Your Alice in the Morning: I made the crepuscular rounds earlier, cleaned litter boxes, fed the cats. When I went into Alice, I opened the kennel where she spent the night, she was still pretty snoozy. She was up in the loft, where she oversaw the removal and return of her litter box. I left her kennel door open, and when I returned later with some chicken and salmon, she was still in her kennel. That was a first.
And then. Oh my heart.
Instead of coming down to eat, she first came to me for some attention and affection. And it’s red salmon. Wow.
Doh. I'm slow. It took me a minute, but NOW I get what's up with that paragraph of Biden accomplishments and the SER link. Our Trix is OUR very own Mrs. Landingham. OK. We can all now put on our grown up pants and quit messing around.

Cat's concept of "table" irrevocably changed.
I love this, and it also points out the main fallacy of the "flat earth" belief, unless they also believe there's a rim around it.
That kitty is so round and sweet and so confused!

The Irish cats were probably British shorthair, they look quite different from domestic (American) shorthairs.
Could be a Munchkin-mixed breed.
Our Junior Cat is positively Rubenesque. There's just so much more of her to love.
Chap Stick or Slap Stick? You make the call.
"Slap Shot" starring Paul Newman!
I’ll take slap stick. One wife, one daughter, and I have melted Chap Stick in every nook and cranny in every one of my cars.
I know that feeling, at least nbody's pants are getting chapped...
A real paw tapper.
That’s a cat that’s gonna poop in someone’s shoe later.

He looks so sad! If you feel the need to buy a special coffee table to keep your cat from pushing things off it... you're really not a cat person.

"Cats and dogs, living together!"
OMG Donna Rose is so big now. I feel so old.
Elephants have names.
Turns out that they're Welsh. : ) (Their names are very hard to pronounce.)
Lovely family!

It depends on which substacks you get e-mails from.
Do you all have Michaela Ann Dawes, and Krby Lenker (all musicians) I suspect not.
Nobody is drilling in ANWR. The Willow project is in NPRA. Still sensitive environment but several hundred miles from ANWR.
Lovely to see such a beautiful family!!!
Go go Grandmas~!!!!

Vive la matriarchy!

Stop stop I can only cry so much in one dayyy after this hula video up top
That is one narrow table. Nice job staggering the dishes.
I love a Hawaiian/Polynesian party and would like to attempt one, myself!
AND WERE THOSE BIG KAHUNA BURGERS ON THE TABLE?
Those are *tasty* burgers!
they were Huli chicken and they were FANTASTIC. Plus an impossible burger for my niece Sadie.

LOL that eye-roll at 0:32; NOT VERY OHANA, DONNA ROSE.
I can attest to her adorable, charming attitude when dressed as Wednesday Addams, though!
