I hope idiot tom carper and traitor idiot joe lieberman rot in hell together. DC deserves better than an asshat and another asshat whose so stupid he doesn't see lieberman is an asshat. We didnt win GA just so we could elevate a skunk like lieberman. Can't wait for the boomers to GTFO of public office.PS all Republicans are Nazis. Half a Nazi sandwich is still a Nazi sandwich.

A friend used to say about Wyoming, "there's two parts: God's country and God's foresaken country."

Joe Lieberman is going to “ help” this effort?

To be fair, this has nothing directly due to racism: Republicans don't want DC statehood because it would vote Democrat. There is no other reason. I am not sure why they are bothering with spurious excuses no-one believes.(Of course, the Republicans' racism is one principle reason why DC votes Democrat, so it does all come back indirectly to Republican racism again, but that is not directly their reason for opposing its statehood.)

I met Eleanor Holmes Norton on a class trip in the late 90s. It's sad she didn't have a "real" job then, and just plain pathetic, after we had a Black President, she still doesn't have one now 20 years later. No taxation without representation.

Speaking of Republicans, they've spent the last week getting dumber and more racist with their arguments against DC statehood

Of course. I wouldn’t expect them to approach this issue any differently from any other issue.

Dammit. I used to square dancing.

That's good for John McCain, right?

OK, hate Dennis, but that is funny.

My experience with contra dancing is that it serves as a hippie-crunchy alternative to square dancing.

The pre-right-wing Dennis Miller joked that he didn’t like square dancing because he didn’t want to be ordered around the dance floor by a neofascist Sam Drucker in a bizarre B.F. Skinner hoedown.

Just for the hell of it, what if we took all the good parts of Wyoming away from the state, including the national parks and Wind River reservation? And same for Montana?
