So suspenseful. Is it going to lay eggs? Eat a fly? Molt?

No. TABS.

My oldest daughter loved frogs when she was 4-6 years old, and would bring the ones home that she had caught. We lived out in the country then, and there was a pond nearby. I always made her return the frogs to the pond.

Hello sweetheart! I'm so sorry I missed you yesterday. This move has been an utter nightmare, and we're so far behind already. But hey, I'm finally in the South! We're almost home, and then the unloading of the van starts. Yayyyy.

Shoulda found me. I stifled all my cheapskate impulses yesterday and took my whole band of desperadoes out and we ate til we were miserable.

Bless your heart. I don’t envy you going through a move. But I’m glad you’re brightening up this shitty corner of the world.

That is the sweetest compliment, thank you! I'm sure I'll make it up there soon, and not having a mini meltdown! 😁 Thanks again, sunshine.

I always wondered what happened to the frogs when it rained frogs. Now I can wonder about those cats and dogs.

When the rain comes

They'll run and hide their clogs

They might as well be frogs

The cyber stalking article was a nice read. Good to see these fucks getting theirs. Proper a few years in prison for the harassment. Stalkers get away with it all too often.

For the record, mugshot fashion review is a hard no from me.

I'm sure there will be folks who enjoy it and I'll leave it to them.

Not a bartender, but I nominate Nick Charles (Wm Powell) in the film The Thin Man, 1934. In the opening scene he is lecturing the bartenders on the proper way to shake different cocktails.

I don't know most of those movie / TV bartenders, but I'm glad to see Guinan (Whoopi Goldberg) from ST:TNG make the list. After that character was introduced we used to refer to 10-Forward as "the Whoopi Deck".

Yes, we can be a little (or a lot) nerdy.

Before anyone pins another "Liberal Hero" medal on Fani Willis, here's another reason not to:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/aug/28/copy-city-atlanta-protesters-lives-domestic-terrorist-label

Most galling is the disparity of the kid treatment of election-stealing MAGATs, and the terrorist charges brought against those protesting Cop City.

What does the article in the Guardian have to do with Fani Willis?

yes, a quick scan shows DeKalb County, which is not Fulton County!

Thanks to all the good Wonkers who provide Xitter highlights (and lowlights) I deleted my X account today. It even felt gross to login to X to do it. No more of my eyeballs for Elno. It was the 230,000,000 ppl watched Tuckums/Trump BS that pushed me over. I definitely will miss Imani Gandy and others who suffer through X stupidity to share important news about repro rights.

Makes me regret not being able to get copies of mine. The first was the May Day '71 Demonstration in DC, which was only a field arrest photo. I gave my real name for the report (damn right I wanted the recognition for posterity), but 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. as my home address. The cop asked if I knew Richard Nixon; I said yes, he's my illegitimate father.

The second time was the Tribe's follow up in Nov., more of a traditional march/civil disobedience event than a guerrilla action; and that was a formal mug shot. On both occasions I put on my best Galactic Village Idiot's Grin (tm; patent still pending) for the candid camera.

So any idea how long before this hits threatens to hit the Supremes, and how it is faring in its saunter through the courts system?

"Fox News, however, still faces a $2.7 billion lawsuit from voting technology company Smartmatic. That lawsuit is making its way through the courts system."

Oliver Willis’ article reminds me of what happened with Hillary until Comey fucked it all up. Every time the public saw “actual” Hillary she killed it in the polls. After the third debate she was up at least 5 or 6 points just by erasing the “bogeywoman” that Fox had created.

My kitties Harry and Bear know I'm getting to ready to go away for a few days(leaving Thursday for Holly and Paul's). Harry has been very clingy and will nip at my hand if I'm not giving him enough(or too much) attention. But Bear is avoiding me, he usually sleeps with me, last night he didn't, he stayed in his cat cave(covered bed/basket) and only came out for breakfast today. They've been spoiled, up until last Labor Day I had not gone anywhere in years but now they know what it means when I get out my backpack. My babies, you'll be ok, it's just 4 days.
