I'm a mother and there's no way in hell I would read that book. I'm all for kids learning discipline and striving to do their best, but I also think that kids should be allowed to be KIDS.
I’m not a mother so I didn’t read battle hymn of the tiger mother...even if I were a mother, I probably wouldn’t have read it because it just seemed like more mom shaming. But I digress. I rolled my eyes at the popularity this book recieved when it came out. Based on Pimp Momma Chua’s (borrowing from DListed’s “Pimp Mama Kris” of Kardashian fame) willingness to davalue her students I feel validated in my disdain.
My mom was a border collie, too! My little sister and I were a hand full. My mom was our mom and dad, dad was actually a body that sat in a tan Naugahyde La-Z-Boy and grunted something racist once in a while, and cleaned our fingernails with a pocket knife.
