I hope if ICE comes to the Super Bowl to cause trouble, the entire stadium of fans there, swarm and block them en masse. There's nothing those cowardly former Proud Boys and insurrectionists understand better than people standing up to them.

This was great! I read the Patreon by Rokita and it was so informative on Puerto Rico which I know very little about, unfortunately, other than they should be a state if they want.

Also, I think the only Benito that Noem likes is Mussolini.

Looks like I'll be boycotting the Super Bowl this year. Just kidding. I NEVER watch the Super Bowl because sportsball is boring. One of the perks of living abroad is there is no chance I would be invited to a Super Bowl party.

Most of Bad Bunnny’s music is, well not for me. And you know what? That’s fine. Not all entertainment in the world needs to be aimed at my demographic. And yeah, that Barcelona sketch was probably the best of the episode (though, imo, it didn’t have all that much competition).

I like when SNL has hosts and guests I’m mostly too old to know about, because it at least helps me stay hemi- semi- demi- informed on current pop culture. I mean, who in the US had heard of Peter Tosh when they had him on singing about ganja in the late 70s? (Full disclosure, I like Reggae way too much for someone of my age and ethnicity)

Anyway, thanks for your translation Michael - I enjoy hearing other languages but suck at learning them, so it’s appreciated.

indigenous languages are thriving in much of Latin America. that's why we have to get translators where i work, even those of us who are bi-lingual.

Nothing threatens fascists like rhythm.

A Puerto Rican on the biggest stage in America, unbothered, switching languages mid-sentence—that’s liberation set to a beat.

They mistake joy for rebellion because they’ve forgotten what joy feels like.

Blessed be the ones who dance in their own tongue while the fearful choke on translation.

“If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn"

I loved the comment on (I think) that SNL video 'Who can learn a language in four months?"

IDK but I'm sure people do. Either way, I fail to see how that's anyone's problem?

We have more guns in the USA than we have people. To quote Charlie Kirk, "We have to accept a few gun deaths in order to preserve our 2A rights" Guess it never occurred to him that he might be one of them.

Many people in Europe are fluent in two or more languages. Here in the "Land of the Stupid, Home of the Illiterate"" That practice is discouraged. Speak "Murican" dad gummit!

And usually a lot more than two. I am envious of that. I can handle some Spanish, but only if they speak slowly and clearly, treating me like a slightly retarded child.

My Swiss mom spoke (1) Swiss German (2) German (3) English, enough to get by on (4) French, and was studying (5) Russian. But me, I only speak 'murican, because when she got here in the 60s, she wanted her kids to be assimilated.
