Of course not. So if liberal policies have destroyed education how do you reconcile the rightward lurch of the country with the lowering quality of education in the most conservative states, while the states with the best educational systems are those which are most liberal? Are the higher test scores and improved problem solving skills of California students over those of Florida signs of failure? If so, give us more of this kind of failure!
It doesn't mean crapp. We do not "socially promote" when it comes to graduation from high school. You earn the grades to earn the credits or you do not graduate. Is that OK with YOU?
The point there is that not everybody is going to be a "Dead Poets' Society" or "Stand and Deliver" level fun/amazing teacher, and most will be adequate over time and hopefully be a "special" teacher to someone and inspire them. There will some that are amazing, and we need them as well. But with decent sized classes and decent support form admin, even a medium teacher can do a really good job.
My uncle was a Jesuit who absconded with a Sister of Mercy and eloped to Paris in 1963. They later went on to professorships at Wright State University in Dayton.
My friend is from a suburb of Atlanta. She's in her mid-60s. There was none of this bullshit when she was going to school. Most of the kids, and the teachers, were Baptist. Nevertheless, she was taught evolution, "To Kill A Mockingbird" was on the high school curriculum, and no one's parents tried to dictate what was taught. What's happening now in red states, especially Georgia, infuriates her. (Do NOT get her started on Herschel Walker.)OK, the Civil War was taught as "The War of Northern Aggression," but nothing's perfect.
Yikes.. and the only Jesuit education I had was a summer course in Metaphysics... taught by an atheist ex-beatnik!

Xombie Christian Education!
Welcome To The Monkey Pox
Please be more specific than that. Social promotion of what?
No, they haven't.
You think teachers pay attention to that crap?

Yeah, who was in line first!
LOL, that sounds like the Jesuits, all right!

I yield to your superior rhetorical skills.
LOL, ok!
The Hasidim also have huge families and are not shy about raising them on welfare.

I'm even more worried about measles.
