What if a Taiwanese manufacturer came to you with an offer to bring 3,000 jobs to your state. Sure it's a company best known for running sweatshops in China where they have to put anti-suicide barriers on the roof because the workers keep jumping to protest horrible working conditions and low wages
In all fairness to Foxconn, they've never been a sweatshop. The suicides were a result of Foxconn paying out very generous death benefits to the families of the first few people who killed themselves. The suicides stopped after they stopped with the payouts.
Gawd, Wisconsin *would* be one of the very few states with no gubernatorial term limits. That cross-eyed shitweasel will be living off the taxpayer teat for the rest of his days.
Also, LCD Panels? Apple’s top of the line this year will be OLED, which will likely be all of their screens within two years. Gonna be funny when they finish that factory and realize they have some iPad screens to make and that’s all.
So, Foxconn is Lucy, American plants are the football, and WI and two other states are Charlie Brown. In the meantime, Boeing SC is demonstrating that SC is a Right To Get Laid Off state.
Beginning to understand what the 'con' in Foxconn means. (interesting that Google spell check recommends that "Foxconn" be spelled, "Oxycontin". Is Rush an investor?)
Totally. It'll be a "dark" factory, with no human comforts as it'll be highly automated. HVAC will be designed to meet the needs of the machines. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.
Motorola did the same crap to a small town near me; Harvard, IL. I have linked to an article showing the timeline of the whole debacle, but what it doesn't mention is the state and the town gave Motorola millions and millions of incentives, property tax exemptions, etc., to locate there in the first place. As you will see in the article, the campus was built for 100 million or so. They left out this part in the article.
Actually, just recently a right to work for less state under Walker and his gerrymandered Nazi buddies in Assembly and Senate.
Actual facts are lost on their supporters, so it doesn't matter anyway.

Yep. Wisconsin prides itself on low pay and no benefits.

"I'll tell you. It's a complete and total lie, but I'll tell you if you really want me to."
"How are you going to get your robots to buy iPhones, Scotty?"

Additional benefit.
