I am SO glad to get the Wonkette email of news in my email In box! It includes some Wonkette articles that I have NOT seen when going to wonkette.com on my computer. And horrors, I do NOT want to miss any articles!!! Please keep sending the email of news! (I have not been able to get the substack app, which might make my access easier; will keep trying but I don't know what the problem is yet.) Thanks!!!
Just finished another two hours of hell in the dentist's chair. And I gotta go back next Tuesday. They're having hard time getting the molds right. Fucking top sends me into a total panic, it's super claustrophobic, I feel like I'm being choked. It's six minutes of waiting for it to set and feeling like I'm going to die. We did that 5 fucking times today.
It is friendly to the timber industry and touts a climate solution — sequestering a massive amount of carbon from manmade emissions
About the "sequestering" part, AP has confused "forest" with "doug fir plantation". What happens on the later is, every 20-30 years you cut everything down, haul away the logs and scrape everything else ... branches, bark, undergrowth down to the sterile dirt ... into large piles which are burned, with consequent "manmade emissions." And much of the dimension lumber milled from those logs is going into cheap construction with not even one century of useful life.
Not to knock our glittering new platform here - because honestly you all did a terrific job of migrating the most critical features of the Wonkette experience (snark mob non-comments, dick jokes, cat photos, cocktail and cake recipes).
But working tangentially with systems vendors and administrators in real life, I'm beginning to recognize "LOL heart hug heart eyes emoji!" as a standard response whenever there are apparently insurmountable systems issues.
Most of which are caused by Elmo Lusk in one way or another.
I dunno. Two months on a boat with "disabled electronics"? Give me a multimeter and a soldering iron and I bet I could have had that boat running in a few hours.
I wondered why he was out there without an EPIRB myself. It is independent of an electrical system and battery powered so would have allowed rescue within hours off the coast of Mexico.
The kids in Angola story: did any of the righteous "pro-life" (that's forced-birth fans to the sane among us) groups push to get those kids removed from Angola prison? NO?!? Bitches be lyin'. They are not for life for the CHILDREN in ANGOLA PRISON. Bitches be lyin'! It's always been about control and moral scolding (and worse).
In a browser, navigate to Activity which is a list of all likes and replies to your non-comments, in reverse chronological order (most recent on top). NOTE: If you click Activity in the drop down menu in the upper-right corner, click "See All". Scroll to the reply you are interested, click in the box but not on the user name or any embedded URLs. It will display the thread for just that comment. The one you picked will be highlighted, though you may need to scroll down. Like, reply, copy, whatevs.
I haven't found a place with all my comments. (In Disqus it was "Profile".)
Legal Eagle explainer about the Twitter lawsuit thingy. I tried, I really tried to follow along, but I think I might be with Elon on this one, dammit. Hard to tell.
I obviously don't understand the world of high finance, but I've bought lots of residential properties over the years. Sometimes even under contract, things happen and it falls out of escrow. I've never been "forced" to buy something. I don't know why it would be different with a web platform. It's just a different kind of property, after all.
That might be an SEC regulation which wouldn’t apply to the lowly sorts like us unless your properties came with shareholders.
Where I kind of sort of agreed with him was attorney fees were one thing, then the sale went through then suddenly fees were another; and please point in the contract where that’s legit. He’s seems to have a leg to stand on here that no new ground-breaking issues were hashed out. It was a straightforward sale. Sure he got hosed (self-inflicted), but he shouldn’t get taken to the cleaners as well.
And that all I want to think about Elon Musk today.
Well, I checked that newsletter setting Trix mentioned, and mine were set to go to both email and whatever the other thing was (app?), but in truth, I don't know that I really need it in either place. Is there more in the newsletter than what I'll find here? Guess I should read the damn thing once in a while.
I tend to read every article anyway, so I haven't been looking at the newsletter.
BTW, I was saying last night that I don't grab articles from the front page of Wonkette, but from my news aggregator, Feedly.com. It give me every article on Wonkette, plus tells me when I've read or not read them. Handy! The linky below goes to a screenshot I took last night of what my Feedly display for Wonkette (or anything) looks like.
Ahoy matey, it’s your hed gif info post: https://martiniambassador.substack.com/p/full-speed-ahead

For you, since I couldn't care less.
''What it’s like to be an American living in Paris''
https://www.cnn.com/travel/americans-in-paris/index.html
ACTUALLY, it’s one of the biggest American expat communities, with over 100,000 USers living in Paris!
(Although the biggest is Mexico, with over a million Americans!)
Thanks! Although I dunno if I should be reading something you merely pass along rather than read first to see if it was worthwhile :)
You takes your chances!
A titanic endeavor.
I dunno, seems like a fishing expedition to me.
Oh you!
I love the fact that I can actually see the gifs functioning properly. I enjoyed them on disqus, but half the time they’d freeze or get really jumpy.
You can see the gifs on this thread in non-comments? Must be one of them new fancy computers.
I think ipso means 'Tini's hed GIF
If you can’t see it it means you were blocked.
I always hated killer drones. There’s no way “clean” way to kill somebody. And all it does is create upward mobility in the terrorist Org. Chart

Yay, the Amazon link is back!
I accidentally unsubscribed but I got better (at least ONE of those things in "Manage Subscriptions" has to be checked, apparently.

You have all of my sympathy. I dread those things.
I'm sorry...that sucks.
I love the kitty in the boat in the ocean with the Tabs flag

Why, it's almost as if the difference between progressives and liberals is that the latter actually do things
hey now, don't insult half our readers pls. we're all in this together.
But I paid for an Argument!
No you didn't.
Which they then say isn't enough

I need some context for the replies I get to my comments (I need to know exactly what comment is being answered).
Is there a way to get them without getting the whole damn thread?
Is there a place to see my "notifications" (I need to see my p points, people!)?

I think we're SOL on that.

I don't need to break my brain trying to understand Elno's 11th dimensional chess.
