well, this is pretty bizarre. i went to sleep last night thinking of the lumberjack song, for reasons i won't get into except that i stole the theme to write a pirate song for my grandchildren years ago.
Monty Python's Lumberjack Song was the first skit of theirs that I ever saw. I turned to PBS to see what was on and had my 12-year-old mind blown. Thought I would die laughing and looked forward to the show each week. PBS showed me many things that network tv did not. Thanks PBS and fuck Stinky for defunding you.
In related news, Sandra Bullock was spied at a Brandi Carlile concert wearing a plaid flannel shirt. Needless to say, Lesbian America went minorly crazy over this news. Yes, minorly is an adverb from the 1980s when majorly was coined :)
I happened to see the 2001 adaptation of Bartleby starring Crispin Glover. It was a short story written by Herman Melville in 1853. Also had Joe Piscapo in a supporting role.
The film was also made in 1970 and 1976 but I didnβt see those.
Friend who taught high school English in inner city LA had her students read that story and make a creative work about it. One wrote a rap track, which included a line that went something like, "When the man Bartleby was asked about a job he 'sposed to do, he'd sit right there and say, 'I'd prefer not to.'"

That Mr. Rogers song would be better if Kermit sang it.
And if it only had one verse.
