It's just logic that more guns = more gun violence and deaths, which is of course also backed up by the data. It's pretty hard to shoot yourself or others without a gun. If being awash with easy-to-obtain guns actually made us safer, we'd be the safest nation on the fucking planet.

Very true, along with the "good guy" potentially shooting someone else on accident and the cops not knowing who the "bad guy" is when (if) they show up.

Re: their insistence we can't have opinions on guns unless we know literally everything about them, maybe we should try that on the (mostly) men who are legislating against abortion because I doubt any of them could pass a basic test on women's anatomy, reproductive process, or the effects of pregnancy and child birth on a woman's body.

I've seen adult men who think women can hold in their periods like urine, or that we pee out of our vaginas.

The armored backpacks for schoolchildren is the most dystopian shit, it actually makes my heart hurt.

They'll do literally anything—no matter how expensive or impractical or just plain stupid—to avoid fixing the actual problem, which is all the fucking guns. They'd rather turn schools into a war zone mixed with a high-security prison.

It's about time someone called them out about their actual stance on gun control, that their "thoughts and prayers" to the victims should, if they were honest, be actual praises for them dying for a "good cause" keeping the second amendment supreme.

Because really that's what they are actually doing by continuing to promote their gun fetish even in the face of such mass shootings over and over again, despite anything they say or feel to the contrary.

They KNOW that more guns simply leads to higher chances that someone will pick one up and shoot up a load of people, only complete imbeciles would not know that. But it's also easy for them to justify this brute fact for themselves by simply implying to themselves that these incidents and the people who die in them, are all the price to be paid for their worship of the 2nd amendment.

And that's something that is inviolable to them so really these people they send their "thoughts and prayers" to, should, if we look at it from this perspective, actually be "praised for dying for a good cause", the 2nd amendment cause. If they were honest that is.

Because it needs to be repeated in just about any thread that features the right and their gun worship, and because this is just appropriate in describing their TRUE stance on guns, here it is again:

BLOOD FOR THE GUN GODS!!! CASH FOR THE NRA THRONE!!!

My wife once memorably summed up her opposition to Catholic schools as "fill their heads with lies, and molest them."

Didn't they prove with the night club shooting, that if the patrons were armed and returned fire at the shooter, they 'good guys' would have shot each other before they even got the shooter? we should be promoting more info like that

The last thing I would want to do is give Sister Marie Venard, my 6th grade teacher, a gun.

And I learn thanks to Rachel that DeSantis signed a bill today allowing concealed carry with no restrictions, training, or licensing in a private, unannounced ceremony attended only by members of the NRA.

The left should start a campaign to insist that, as a public service to the nation's children, every gun provided to teachers after laws like these are passed should be donated at no cost by the manufacturer, and training and range time at gun ranges should also be donated.

After all, it is for the children.

They gloss over the problem good guys with guns face: They are the last to draw and the last to truly comprehend the situation when a shooting occurs.

Up to now, only the parents have been armed. I believe this will increase the level of civility, if I understand things correctly.
