"That means a strong chance that Republican Reps. Doug LaMalfa, Darrell Issa (!), Ken Calvert, Kevin Kiley, and David Valadao will be out of jobs next year. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch!"
I'll miss Valadao. He's almost a Democrat. Y'all might remember him from his Impeachment and J6 Investigation votes, and he has opposed his caucus on a number of civil rights and abuse of power issues. In ordinary times, I'd be rooting for him. But this is war, and his caucus is the Fascist party.
Ken Calvert is no Valadao. He's as old as Schumer and looks like Boss Hogg. Still, as Republicans go, he's not totally terrible. Except for that whole Republican thing.
Kevin Killey is mostly a twerp. And too.oily to really nail down. Libertarian, I guess? Rand Paul, only younger and with less stature to grandstand in the national stage, although he's not shy at the statewide level. It's good to have a chance to punch his career in the dick before it really gets going, he'll be a problem in the future.
Doug LaMalfa is Fascist scum, good riddance. He may be the toughest of the bunch, though. His district includes the militant MAGA enclave of Shasta County, and he's REALLY good on agricultural issues. That's the race to watch, I think.
And then there's Darrell Issa. We all know Darrell. He was already fading fast before this happened; he had to switch Districts in 2022 because his old district was nonviable after redistricting. That, plus his long-established habit of showing his belly to bigger tougher dogs, this last time Kevin McCarthy. Bye, Darrell, it's been real.
It's taking too long and there's too much damage but Sir proves again and again that he is a consistent loser, consistent failure, consistent fuck up. Just indulge him, tell him he's great, lie to him, ask about how he keeps looking so fit, '...what's your hair care secret?', swear that he's always the best at being right. Just let him have his way!
“Meanwhile, Trump’s support is lagging all over, and he’s scraping along with a 37 percent approval rating. Sad.”
That is pretty close to his rock bottom which seems to be about 30-35% of diehard (which they are about to start doing once Trump takes their Medicaid and SNAP) MAGAts.
I know it’s FAFO but I hate to see anyone suffer hunger and disease.
Perhaps openly saying the day before an election that he would defy the court order and block emergency SNAP funds was not the Sooper Jenius move that Sir appeared to "think".
The pundits can call it politics. They’re wrong. It was resurrection with teeth.
A historic, motherfucking tsunami that tore across the map and peeled the gold foil off Mar-a-Lago like a cheap advent calendar chocolate coin. Democracy didn’t knock. She kicked the door off its hinges, boots muddy, hair wild, eyeliner smeared, and said, “Miss me, bitches?”
The freakout on Fox was particularly delicious, and deserves WONKETTE coverage all on its own, like when Hannity realized that all private property was going to be confiscated in the name of The People, and he was going to spend the rest of his life taking midnight phone calls from a demented old ganch everybody hates.
In re James Brown: everything he did is exactly the same as everything else he did -- a carbon copy, if you will.
And everything he did is completely unique -- a rare diamond, if you will.
How the hell did he do that?! Guess that's why he's one of a kind. The late, great James Brown!!!

I'm withholding my applause because the Democrats have a bad habit of gloating and then squandering their victories.
If any of my peeps are in NC11 like me, next year we need to send Rep. Chuck "Useless As Teats on a Boar Hog" Edwards packing
Cuomo won't go away yet. Not when there is a Senate race in NY next year. He's ready to shit all over that too.
On a good note, this was the first election in decades where everyone I voted for won!
James Brown was a bad person, but OMG, I love his music!
Hey Cuomo!
It's pronounced "Mamdani." Better learn how to say it.
If it's still too much for you, at least you can get by with "Mr. Mayor."
Your first paragraph made me fall off the chair laughing. But I still feel good.

Mike Johnson said you shouldn't read anything into this year's elections because it was nothing more than blue voters in blue cities voting blue.
The guy whistles past the graveyard with the same ineptness he does everything else in life.
I've always said that Johnson can't open his mouth without shoving his foot in it.
