Last week being Holocaust Remembrance and being a Jew with a keen sense of history and film buff, I queued up my usual selection of Holocaust-themed films and this one always sticks with me from 'Judgment at Nuremberg':

Ernst Janning:

Judge Haywood... the reason I asked you to come. Those people, those millions of people... I never knew it would come to that. YOU must believe it, YOU MUST believe it.

Judge Dan Haywood:

Herr Janning, it came to that the first time you sentenced a man to death you knew to be innocent.

Every day, in (almost) every way, the corporate media has been in the tank for Trump. Not just with these obvious bribes, but for the past ten years. Trump sells. Whatever opposition they have mustered has been token; why denude the Emperor when he generates clicks? Ratings?

As the Emperor will tell you, nothing is more important than ratings. Nothing.

The Pulitzer Committee whom $Trump sued because of a prize for accurate reporting has decided to play Trumpy. Citing a recent ruling that supported Trump the defendant in another case, the committee argued that the case should be delayed until Trump is out of office, so he doesn’t have to worry his pretty head about “legal technicalities” while the burdens of the presidency weigh so heavily on him.

We are accepting bets for the date on which the Supreme Court decides Something / Anything against Sir's wishes and Sir ignores the decision, proceeding, without consequence, to do the Unconstitutional / Illegal / Unethical / Amoral thing Sir wanted to do real, real bad just because!

Winners to unequally share the Grand Prize in 1B $Trumpcoin™.

Now lawsuits have turned into nothing but another way to bribe Trump, via "settlements." Along with his shitty merchandise, his "memecoin," the stock in his stupid social media/propaganda platform, and his never-ending "campaign fund/PAC." Did I leave anything out?

His presidency has been devoted to finding ever more ways for him to circumvent bribery laws. It's the one area where he's shown genuine ingenuity.

You forgot them denying funding for federal institutions so they can be privatized and run by oligarchs and the political hacks supporting him, money, money, money

I don't know why these billionaires aren't shaking in their boots. Chump wants everything. He doesn't want to be a member of the club, he wants to be the only member of the club with the ultimate power to include or exclude all others as mere "guests."

"He and his administration of goons have been working to get platforms and media companies to fall in line with the four-year-long-hate-week agenda"

Based on George Orwell's "1984" we can expect 9460 minutes of Mooseballs Mussolini's compulsory "2 Minute Hate." In all reality, though, we are facing "525,600 Minutes of Hate."

"First up, Heart-of-Markness Zuckerberg, who we just learned agreed to pay $25 million to settle a 2021 lawsuit over That Man getting his Facebook accounts suspended for inciting a coup attempt."

Suckerberg wants so much to be included in the Tech Bros' lovefest for the Fulvous Flatulence that he'll do anything (paying $25 mil isn't much of a price for entry -- when your net worth is about $270 billion, that's just a rounding error).

"It was all apparently so traumatic the Zuck had to shop-therapy himself a new $895,500 watch for his multimillion-dollar collection."

What, no $100,000 Mango Malignancy collectables watch?

OT: The Amber Ardipithecus ramidus claims that only the best and brightest will serve in his administration, like Sean Duffy:

"“Obviously, it is not standard to have aircraft collide. I want to be clear on that.”

...

Duffy, a former congressman, will be expected to face the cameras again and provide answers on the crash, which he called “preventable.”" https://www.thedailybeast.com/sean-duffy-mocked-for-pointing-out-the-obvious-about-dc-plane-crash/

Not standard? Preventable?

Duffy, Hegseth, Bobby Jr, Noem, Gabbard..., yep, best and brightest without a doubt.

I guess Kaitlan Collins will be following Jim Acosta out the door pretty soon. Fox Lite isn’t tolerating much dissent these days.

And wow, LATimes. That is definitely deceptive ass kissing right there. How can we trust a newspaper to accurately report the news if they’re willing to distort the author’s intent for politics.

It's a fuking gimmick. Trump sues you for bazillion dollars on a meritless defamation claim. You wait a few weeks and before the time to file an answer is up you very publicly agree to settle for $22 million dollars (most of it coming from your insurance policy). Am I the only one who sees that Fuckerberg and Hair Furor simply found a massive loop hole to avoid campaign contribution limits?

I don't understand Jon Stewart's complacency? Arrogance? Why doesn't he feel the unease, the fear and anxiety that the rest of us feel? The viewers helped to make him rich. And he does that whatever it is he's doing, and it isn't helping.

This is no different than a mob shakedown. Nice business you have there. Be a shame if it got inundated with government investigations. That could cost you hundreds of millions. So $50 million in protection money and a promise to be nice to me in the future is a bargain.

Of course bending over for this extortion will make it easier for Trump to do the same thing in the future if he considers your editorial support for his criminal conduct insufficient. Once a mob boss gets their fingers in your business it's impossible to get them out. They own you. And like with Putin, you may find yourself in prison or falling out a fifth floor window if you are deemed disloyal. MAGA omerta.
