I'll try to get the courage to make one for my birthday. No filling but custard, and nothing on top besides whipped cream, bananas, or strawberries (or both), and maybe chopped walnuts.
Holy crap! I ordered some stuff from Amazon - don't judge, Discover is giving 5% cash back - on Saturday, free shipping, non Prime, and it's already being delivered today!
Well, let's see, I'm hoping I scheduled my AC repair for this afternoon and not tomorrow because it it scheduled to get up to the 80s here today. The air is dry and crisp, but it's going to get stuffy in here and smell like a cat no matter now much I clean. Nights are still plenty cool in the 50s, so it hasn't been too bad yet. Glad it waited until fall to go out.
Not much going on work-wise this week. Perhaps another review of the online software for a test on nonverbal intelligence with the authors and then working on the scoring rubric for the oldest IQ test used in the western world (ahem, it's kind of a big deal for me to get to work on this, definitely a career highlight). Volunteer work Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
Thursday AM is my annual checkup where I will hear that I'm doing great! Aside from the migraines and fibromyalgia, I am in tip top condition where you can take care of yourself: cholesterol, AIC, etc. My doctor will be pleased. Having cut out sugar, my weight NEVER varies from 203, so I am happy with that.
Just a brag, when I set out the #4 and #8 candles for my muffins, the waitress said, "There's no way you are 48," which maybe she was just hustling for a tip, but I think I believe her. I look and feel awesome for nearly 50 with fibromyalgia! And on that note, it's almost time for my first nap. Yay!
Doom related: Went and paid my bills last night, as I do. I get paid once a month so, the beginning of the month I pay everything. It is a nice system seeing as most things are due the middle or the end of the month, so I am always ahead.
Anyway, my credit card peeps ALL were offering me "free help if you are affected by the shutdown"
That is where we are right now. When Credit card companies, not precisely known for their empathy, are more willing to help than an entire political party that controls our entire government.
"In the poll, which was conducted between October 24 to 28, 59 percent of U.S. adults said they disapproved of Trump’s handling of the presidency, while 41 percent approved."
How the hell are they framing this question where that many people approve of this shit? How are we ever going to get the stain out if that many people are okay with it?
It’s said that about 25 - 30% of any given population is nuts; America is exceptional, as usual. I chalk it up to religion and rampant disinfotainment.
They lump things. They don't ask "Do you approve?" they ask "Do you approve of x? Do you approve of y?" and then they lump all the yesses into an over all approve

I'm sure we'll hear about it today. CBS did actually post the unedited interview on YouTube apparently. Probably won't be there after Bari Weiss gets into the office this morning.
Can we pick a goddamn time and stay there? I have to be at work at 6 a.m. in the mountain zone. I woke up at fucking midnight and finally at around 3:30 said; "well, fuck, just get up then." Coffee is helping.
Good morning Wonkets. I am being a bum since I took the day off (using up leave before the end of the year) it was raining out when I got up to go do stupid human tricks so I decided to laze about and do them mid-morning. I will assault the eyes of my fellow citizens in the broad light of day.
I do not change my pets' feed schedule for they time change. Tuna-Boy gets fed by a digital auto feeder and I never change those times, and in the evening, I just give them their dinners an hour earlier or later depending on the season so now they have their dinners at 6 instead of 7. It's just easier that way.
The coming on of the coffee pot seems to be the trigger for breakfast times so this morning was cool. Evenings are a bit more of a challenge but I suspect my little weirdo will adjust to our routine.
Hazards of being an AZ resident: I came here at 0400 MST expecting a Tabs to show up. Then I realized that because of the DST change, it's at 0500 MST. This happens to me twice a year as the time shifts for the civilized world.
Breakfast done, clothes ready for the 2nd oral surgery this year, another molar pulled. Shower time.
I have to somehow persuade this guy to take it slower at first with the anesthetic shots into the muscles in the back, and the gums. He doesn't fuck around. I forgot that part when I made the appt, until too late on Friday to find someone else. The extraction is fine, with plenty of gas (and those shots, I guess), but the lead up is fucking brutal. He needs to be a lot more careful.
I hope every one of his sports cars' tires goes flat every day, and all their transmissions fail. Weekly.
Really? A few years back, I was lucky that I found a dentist who was very careful about anesthetics. I needed a broken tooth removed from the upper part of my mouth where novocaine sometimes does not work. But the doc was very careful and determined that I could not be deadened sufficiently. So he referred me to an oral surgeon who did the job while I was knocked out. I had to pay $1K more but I was satisfied with the result.
I'm going to be asking questions while I look for a new one, and this shit will be top of the list of priorities.
*I had a dentist in N. Phx once, twin brothers, who had a larger-than-life size painting of the Angel Moroni filling a whole wall in the waiting room. They had races to see if they could go faster than the other in procedures. And their instruments looked so old, they looked almost like they were RUSTY.
YIKES is right. I had a Filipino dentist. She was great for fillings and crowns and stuff but she was so tiny I had to be farmed out for extractions. I had to shop around to find an outfit that could do as many functions in-house as possible. I want my dental work done in as few appointments as possible. In my state, making an appointment is nearly impossible as it is.
The last time I went to one, he did that. I told him it was not in effect yet, it needs more time, and instead he used these clamp things that hurt like hell being put on. Like I was sobbing.
My plan now is for all of them to fall out on their own accord.
I'll try to get the courage to make one for my birthday. No filling but custard, and nothing on top besides whipped cream, bananas, or strawberries (or both), and maybe chopped walnuts.

"rare interview"? He is always being interviewed.
He pleaded guilty.
Sounds like grounds for invalidating that pardon to me.
he does not know who it is, but it was ALSO a witch hunt
We did not watch that interview. Obvs.
Willing to pretend they asked some hard hitting questions, like the one on the commercial "What are you as president doing to end the shutdown"
Betting though it was a bunch of soft balls and the responses were edited to make him sound sane
What don't we know already? And pushback, baaahhhh...that's for democrats only!

Good morning, Diane!
OMG, I absolutely hate it when the doc jumps the gun on the anesthetic.
I said, while in the shower: YEAH, NO, FUCK THIS SHIT AND FUCK HIM.
I CANCELLED!!!
Really? A few years back, I was lucky that I found a dentist who was very careful about anesthetics. I needed a broken tooth removed from the upper part of my mouth where novocaine sometimes does not work. But the doc was very careful and determined that I could not be deadened sufficiently. Oh heck yeah, Hammy!!! Heck YEAH.

That was a single visit, never repeated. YIKES.

I know, Hammy! And it shouldn't be that hard. It's not like they're not making bank at this in the first place.
The last time I went to one, he did that. I told him it was not in effect yet, it needs more time, and instead he used these clamp things that hurt like hell being put on. Like I was sobbing.
My plan now is for all of them to fall out on their own accord.
I wish you had my dentist. He's super conscientious about the pain. Good luck!
