I am so so sorry everyone, I went to the hospital to see my mom and absolutely forgot there were drafts to edit and post today. She had surgery and her lung cancer has spread more than they thought, so they've moved her from Stage 2 to Stage 4 or 3B. Two days later they are like "she is ready to go home!" I told them I thought that would be a bad idea.
So! I came home and cleaned her room in case they send her home anyway, and I fucking completely forgot!
Hang in there Trix. Dealing with parents’ medical issues sucks, but not as much as them not being around. My mom in-and-out of the hospital over Christmas last year was challenging for everyone, but we dealt. You’ll do the same.
Oh, Rebecca. I'm so sorry, darlin. I'm sending you and your family all the love and hugs tonight. Please try and get some rest when you can. We love you, honey!
Ugh. Monday. I have to go in at 7 and work until 2. I usually have 5 hour days. I have 3 of those this week. I keep reminding them, I'm ostensibly retired, and part time. It's gotten so awful there that everyone is leaving and they're dumping the hours on us that remain. I DON'T WANT THEM.
Since you're part timing and it looks like they can't get rid of you, you should ask them "have you considered NOT treating your work staff like shit?"
I am only a bit Luddy, not a Ludd. Machine learning and machine "intelligence", used as a term of art to describe the process, distinct from animal intelligence, are going to doing much in humanity's future. I think that the marketers and investment solicitors have beaten the meaning out of "artificial intelligence" and generated expectations that will disappoint soon, prolly worse

I think it's all bullshit and not worth the cost in clean water and land better used for housing, and of course, denying them their precious would be akin to kicking billionaires in the nadders which is always worthwhile.

Hugs, Trix... and Hugs to your mom.
Cancer sucks.
Take care of your mom; we can amuse ourselves - you might have a bit of a mess to clear up when you return. Caring for parents takes a lot.
*hugs*

:hugs: there are worse things than to wake up to cakes we like even if they are in a cup. All the good vibes, Trix
Please take care of yourself during this incredibly difficult time. I'm so sorry about your Mom.
No apologies necessary. Please don't think twice about anything but the important things, we will wait. Mom and priorities
Very sorry about the news
Adequate excuse
Sorry to hear that. Hope you are able to spend as much time as possible with her.

You have your priorities right. Take care of mom.
*hugs*
Love and strength to you and your mom.
All my best wishes to you and your mom.
No worries! All our love to your mom.
I hope things get better for your mom!
Do Spotted Dick next, Cakes!
How about in promise to make that particular dish before Christmas?
With lashings of custard! But hold the suet please…
Suet is an integral part of thd recipe. Thankfully, vegetable suet exists.
Phew!
Phew!

At this point, can we assume the "hacking other companies" is a feature, not a bug, and their sheepishness is just plausible deniability?
And embarrassment ... they can't control the "AI" Frankenstein monsters they have created.
I think the embarassment is a front.
I think they are shopping this to various foreign leaders wink wink nudge nudge.
Once is a mistake. But there have been a few of these things now. They can't say they did not know and yet are claiming they did not know.
Ergo, it reeks
That is a really good take, Jen. I can see Thiel shopping this shit all over as a part of his technocratic world order.
CNN: US military asks troops for ‘creative and unconventional’ ideas to punish Iran
That's asking a lot of those low-T personnel.
My suggestion? Send Greg Gutfeld to Iran to broadcast there. Iran would capitulate within hours.

Farage will win this but .. Constituency polling by Survation, for Mandate Research, found Count Binface is now polling at about 20 per cent.
If the other 30 or so Clacton candidates were taken out, support for the Reform leader falls to 69 per cent while Binface’s rises to 31 per cent.

And what will the Senate do when Blanche breaks his word on the fund? Crooked Donnie has already said he wants it anyway.
Did TODD also place in writing that the Trump family is NOT exempt from tax audits in perpetuity?
"Only retroactive," meaning anything new isn't subject to the agreement.
Which gives them roughly 30 months for the cash grab.
Oh course he'll break his word. He's Trump's personal lawyer, and all of The Homunculus' lawyers are crooked as screwworms.
Obligatory - screwworm libelz.
