I disagree. This way she can take every shot they have to fire and walk away. They will spend so much energy fighting her that when the actual candidate is announced they have nothing left - the actual candidate has whatever length of time the R's spend fighting Hillary to very carefully craft his/her message against the very arguments the R's have used.
If that's what she is doing, she's shielding a field of young, untested candidates from endless gotcha pseudo journalistic crap so they have some space to formulate a team and talking points before the Less Stoopid Bush trash machine chews them up and compacts them before they even get started. She will also have some fat PAC monies to get them started in their fundraising. Hillary announced she would release her Email account, but if she releases it to the FOIA lawyers at the State Department to scrub and/or redact first, she could be into the final months of her first term at the White House before it becomes public. Four years of Secretary of State Emails intertwined with personal Email, is a lot. She travelled a lot, and volumes needed to be on the record to protect what she said and to whom. If she chose Email over telephone conversations, it will take half a dozen lawyers years to wade through everything. They should refuse to release it piecemeal. Incoming Emails from other countries may not be released, just her messages, which would make for some rather dull reading if she only releases her comments.
Face it. The Rethugligoons will never rest until they have avenged their man Millhouse I by actually running a Dem President out of office. They failed with Clinton and now they will take off against his wife as their cause. Every Dem president will face endless streams of gotcha because the Rethugs are now practically all programed to look for impeachment.
