Absolutely you should. It was people who voted in local elections in Prince William County who gave Corey Stewart his platform and raised him to the level where he is now, were he might become a US Senator. Also, it’s your local elected officials who have the most direct impact on the quality of your daily life.

Yes, you really should. Your vote is a higher percentage of the total votes for your state legislator, than any other vote you cast. It's also the most important vote you've got to affect federal policy because of the gerrymander.

Yes, please, fellow Virginian! The dead-even thing you are referring to was ALL local state voting for delegates and senators in 2017. We flipped 16 delagate seats to blue, lost one by one (1) vote and one was a tie that was decided by pulling the name out of a hat. We all could do with a reminder that alll politics is local -even though it ain’t always so sexy.

I don't tend to vote for state senators or that stuff. Sorry, maybe I should?

I vote for governor, I vote for Senators and Represenativies. The democratic primary for Virginia 8th district of the House was a big deal and i studied the choices there.

Virginia congressmen are 7 Republicans to 4 Democrats, so no, our US representatives are NOT mostly blue. This is because most Virginians, like you, "personally don't care" about the composition of the body that does 100% of the gerrymandering for U.S. Congress.

i think it's either dead even or it's one-vote advantage to the republicans and it was a tie vote. i don't personally care about state govenment that much in Virginia. I think our senators and US representatives are mostly blue and we will easily flip some of the republican seats this Fall.

Also, a lot of counties are red and it's apportioned by counties not population.

I fail to see the persuasive argument that he's wrong. Forever-war already exists, today. That's already the state of affairs. Kaine is trying to put limits on it. What kind of bizzaro world are you from?

What an unfairy, cunty criticism. He's been THE ONLY Senator demanding that the President seek authorization for military force for like 10 years now. So now he tries a curve ball that'd at least force the President to make disclosures - and now forever-war is HIS fault? Yeah, the President's infinite power to make war forever is all Kaine's fault, somehow, because he sponsored a bill that'll never pass.

I've seen Kaine and Booker speak back-to-back. Booker would be a much, much better candidate.

It's only blue when the damn voters show up, which ain't too often. The purity-loving lefties couldn't be bothered in 2010 when the did the gerrymandering, which is why the legislature continues to be red, red, red.

It's a grossly dishonest criticism. Kaine has been at the absolute forefront of attempting to compel the President (first Obama, now Trump) to seek Congressional authorization for war. For YEARS now. His latest effort would at least force the President to inform Congress where U.S. Forces are engaged, which is more than they get now.

Too late, except that he's learned to live with the burning itch. Maybe that's why he wants to kick someone in the teeth?

My God.

What's to stop them from taking away anyone's children if they aren't being raised with the "proper religion" or some such nonsense? Not our Congress.

He's a class act, and it's too damn bad that he's not our VP.
