Forgive me if this has been asked and answered; do the districts these three seats just remain unfilled for the rest of the legislative session? If they don't how are they replaced? Do they have to be from the same party the ousted reps are from or can they do an end run around and put in the opposite party?

Not to be nitpicking, but shouldn't that be "Democratic Terrorists." I mean, leaving off the "ic" is a huge insult according to lamebrained Repubs.

There might be a judicial solution. This sounds as though it might break a law or two.

I don't think there's room for him there given all the people he's thrown under it already. And trump is large sized--and that's not just his head.

You can bet that after this any Democrat in the state legislature will be subject to being kicked out. As I have said before they don't simply want a majority, they want total control of every seat in the legislature. Other states will follow, and with some previous North Carolina state court decisions limiting partisan gerrymandering being "under review" by a new GOP majority, I expect that NC, basically evenly split between Democratic votes and Republican votes, will soon see their legislative majority become a veto proof super majority. And congressional districts returning to 80% Republican. Meaning that a Democratic governor will be unable to successfully veto anything an impervious block of Republican legislators impose on the public. And a Republican majority in Congress will be easier to maintain, with a virtual lock on at least 10, maybe 11 of our 14 congressional seats.

Still trying to figure out if it’s legal that they deactivated their ID cards already. They aren’t yet formally expelled so how is it that they are allowed to block them from accessing their workplace?

I wonder if their rules are similar to the federal ones. There are pretty strict guidelines about not impeding legislator’s access to their jobs.

Well, but Johnson, Jones and Pearson are likely from majority black districts, so disenfranchising THOSE voters is fine....
