This is such a wet dream for MRAs that I looked for ties between Pody or Sexton and the Men's Rights movement. Didn't find any, but I found all sorts of other awfulness, everything from Second Amendment Sanctuary legislation to an attempt to deny immigrant parents birth certificates for babies born in in their state. These guys are fucking monsters.

What if two men claim paternity and one says, “yeah, go ahead, abort away?” Whose claim takes precedence? Whichever one claimed first or would a DNA test be required to decide in that case? Is calling dibs on the fetus legal?

Rape is the only crime where the defendant can claim the victim was asking for it. If you get mugged, they don’t say you deserved it for carrying much cash or wearing flashy clothes. But for some reason, that can still be done in rape trials.

abusers don't need this law to commit abuse - and the notion that there are a number of abusers willing the forego the opportunity to challenge paternity and an assurance of court ordered support to use this law is speculative.

The law is gross on it's own terms without resorting to a parade of horribles

Hmm... so, if a person who can become pregnant rapes a man and becomes pregnant, how does this proposed bill address that? Does the man get to demand an abortion? Does the rapist get to demand child support? Does the man have to prove he was raped?

After it's grown some. Although I knew a woman in Minnesota who could not get a paternity test done until after her baby was born.

Having lived in North Dakota and Minnesota for many winters, even having a good parka, mittens, boots and scarves does not make many people eager to spend time outdoors.

Aren’t there still states where a rapist can marry his victim if she’s underage and avoid a statutory rape charge? I was watching a documentary about child brides the other day. And I was amazed that it was a thing in the USA.

...isn't even the actual father of your child...

You spelled "person who got you pregnant" wrong.

Tennessee is full of so many nice, friendly people. How do they elect so many rotten people to statewide and federal office?
