Mr. Fatale calls me "the Dishwasher Nazi." (a la "Soup Nazi")My mother-in-law once told me: "Gee, I've never seen anyone get as much into the dishwasher as you!"

Of all the nuclear capable countries, Pakistan and India may set something off IMHO. Hopefully it won't come to that.

As a slight aside, I read today that that lame question was waaaaaay down the list at OpenDebates. The moderators just wanted to ask it. OpenDebates sent out a great email showing all the *incredibly* divergent opinions reflected in the submitted questions and saying the above. Alas, not on their website yet.

Have you seen "Atomic Cafe"? It's old but it's something to see.

who are these pure, innocent souls who think politics, where you try to get people to vote for you, is about being honest and straight forward 24 hours a day?

Just a reminder that the largest leaks in US history were from secure govt sites. After Wiki-leaks, the Snowden leaks were from the ultra- secretive NSA

Not exactly. It's kind of a mix of the first tests showing servicemen watching the blast with sunglasses, the awful use of pigs' exposure due to their skin being close to human skin, the old duck and cover baloney, etc.

Hope you like it. Different perspective and shows how little they knew about what they had unleashed. "I have become Death, destroyer of worlds"...I believe it was Robert Oppenheimer who said that. I'm off to bed so have a good night.

As it would any thinking person. It would be years before the collateral damage came to light.

Agreed! I had a discussion with my students (who for the most part have all had the misfortune of being educated in Indiana) about the fact that civics have virtually disappeared from public high school curricula. Why, it's almost as if cynical politicians see advantages in an uneducated and therefore disenfranchised electorate!

Having had a kid in public high school not that long ago, I am kind of horrified by what they don't learn. I mean, I went to the same schools and I don't think my education was all that complete either - a lot of what I learned in college came as a surprise when I think it really shouldn't have - but it's gotten worse. Even basic history. My kid never got past the Civil War in any American history class, and the world history classes ignored whole continents. Like freaking Africa.

There is nothing dishonest about using different arguments when convincing different people. Most arguments are not mutually exclusive.

For example, Jimmy wants apple pie.To the baker Jimmy will say 'I have enough money.'To his friend Jimmy will say 'I like the taste.'To his mom Jimmy will say 'apples are healthy.'
