Phil Williams (of investigative news fame) has today's least surprising polling data

https://bsky.app/profile/thetnholler.bsky.social/post/3lyvfp5sfic2e

But I'm glad he has it -- we're all going to need it once the propaganda machines start yelling

You see this? This is how the attack by The Birds started....

We have heaps of birbfeeders in our yard and, as the guy who fills them, I found this pretty comical.

I've literally had birds impatiently waiting in the shrubbery as I've refilled ours.

EyeQueue's avatar

I am the bird feeder, LOL!!!!! I feed the mourning doves and they sometimes hear my voice from inside the house and come down and wait by the window for me to come out. XD XD XD XD

Can someone pass this on to Tangerini and RFK Jr., please?

Flesh-eating bacteria would probably run screaming from RFK Jr.'s rancid body.

we need to Crisper a fash eating virus.

Belle la Bête f/k/a Girl Guide's avatar

Vibrio Vulnificus, Bacteriophage of the Order of the Fleur de Lis. Another quality nickname for Trump, and actually one that he could easily be bamboozled into enthusiastically embracing as a “title.” Quick, someone tag the Vatican graphics department (which is probably a bunch of seminary students working part-time at Staples’ copy center) to come up with an official-looking certificate of sainthood bearing this name.

“Nope. No flesh-eating bacteria, or explosive diarrhea, or measles, or Iran quagmire, or…”

They're spending your money without telling you what they're spending it on

And they've cut regulations to take bribes and also because THEY DON'T CARE IF THEY KILL YOU

Everybody got all that?

Iran wants to be paid now to make it end. And honestly, that looks like the only way out. Don't think North Korea isn't seeing this and getting some ideas too. The American deterrent has lost a lot of value in 5 months.

Chemical's avatar

Unlike Iran, North Korea can't threaten American oil shipping. Also unlike Iran, North Korea doesn't present a credible military threat -- their forces participated in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and Ukraine lit their asses up.

North Korea can do serious damage to the South, but they can't win a war. South Korea will fuck up the North if they try some shit.

Mighty Little Dog's avatar

North Korea has estimated 20,000 pieces of artillery, extensive ballistic missile forces and a reported 1,000,000 infantry. We barely didn't lose last time we went round with them. And now they know we're out of the highly advanced munitions that, combined with air superiority, kept the strategic balance. Their sending some brigades to Ukraine doesn't change the fact that North Korea has always presented as a formidable opponent. None other than Gen. Mattis once said that the prospect of a war with them was "ghastly" and would result in massive civilian and military casualties.

Chemical's avatar

No, we kicked their asses last time. They got more help from China than they would care to admit. They are a dirt poor nation with an undisciplined military -- basically Russia without oil money.

That being said, they can cause a lot of damage. A war with them would be bloody, but also one they would lose, unless China interferes, like they did last time.

Mighty Little Dog's avatar

I was a mere spermatozoa in my dad's nutsack when he was getting his pimples shot off over there at 19, but his unit was overrun, fell into disorganized retreat from Chinese forces, so I know they played a role. But the pentagon and the last 60 years of defense planning disagree with your thesis. It is not a long trip down the Korean peninsula, and their army is by all accounts big, with huge redundancy. Where is Russia getting artillery shells the last 4 years? NK. We have about 30k total personnel there, maybe half that is combat forces. What we have always planned around was massive air superiority, over the horizon standoff weapons and tank busting planes. This boo boo in Iran is out in the open, and it turns that strategic planning on its head.

Daniel's avatar

They're demanding payment for the illegal actions against them, it's terrible. It's terrible. They're calling it "the sue us crisis" folks, and it's not good. It's not good from the standpoint of bad.

Mighty Little Dog's avatar

Obligatory: The Iranian regime is actually awful. But, yes, I really dont care if gas goes to $20, bad decisions only stop when bad decisions carry consequences people understand.

Belle la Bête f/k/a Girl Guide's avatar

The best way to break the stronghold that “gas prices” have on our economy is to transition to renewables and to expand public transit and walkable cities. But we have too many people who reject that with a rage-boiling fever because “eco green stuff is gay” and transitioning to public transit is, well, y’know.

EyeQueue's avatar
