The real mystery is who's arming them. With six gun attacks by toddlers on Americans in the last week, the number of deaths and injuries (five deaths, one injury) caused by armed children now exceeds the number of Americans (four) killed in the terrorist attacks in Brussels.
I'm not so optimistic about it receding. The NRA and Repubs are very skilled at stoking the sort of primal, inchoate fear that really seems to lodge deeply in certain people. I know affluent people in gated communities who are convinced they need multiple firearms in the house to "protect their family".
I will build the wall and Head Start's going to pay for it and they will be happy to for it. Because Head Start is making so much money from the grown ups that that's going to be peanuts. And all these other characters say, 'Oh, they won't pay, they won't pay.' They don't know the first thing about how to negotiate. Trust me, Head Start will pay.
There's only one logical solution, and that's the death penalty for toddlers who kill. They're not going to change their behavior until we show them we're serious about this.
I take offense at the Republican Party having an elephant as its mascot. Elephants are intelligent, sentient beings capable of feeling empathy and affection for other members of their species and for other animals as well. Republicans are incapable of such deep neurochemical processes. I think a toilet plunger would be a more appropriate mascot for their party.
The NRA radio program "Cam and Company" celebrates the Hero of the Day and Good Guy of the Day - happily exaggerating stories where brandishing or shooting a gun kept someone safe. I wrote an email suggesting they add "Murdered (or Murdering) Toddler of the Day". For some reason, they never responded.
So here's a thing that seriously bothers/puzzles me, sorta OT but whatevs:PrezNit RayGun repealed the Fairness Doctrine. Why in the hell can't/hasn't/won't a Democratic President - our current Commander In Chief included - reinstate it? Unless I'm sorely mistaken, RayGun used his Executive powers to derail it, why couldn't a good President use the same to reinstate it? If nothing else: Buh-Bye, Faux Nooz. That would be an enormous step in the correct direction! Imagine a nation without 24/7 fear/hate mongering! (And I'm seriously asking: Why hasn't this happened? There's got to be a reason I'm ignorant of.)

it might take a while for the deaths to taper off but the only way to start is by repealing the Second Amendment!
