That 'woke' thing was Cotton's bullshit. It doesn't mean they can't have those things about not molesting fellow soldiers or calling non-white soldiers names. Don't you all have to trust each other?

I often wonder how many members of "The Base" know that it translates to "Al-Qaeda".

For the enlisted ranks, yes. The officer ranks are predominately white, surprise, surprise.

Exactly! That's the "teamwork" thing I was saying they like to promote.

Yes. I've often thought of being a woman soldier and dreading going out-- well Iread about just this thing-- having to go out to some spot at night where I've got to stand there and keep watch and there's a guy there too and actually he'd attacked her before and she had to go out there and be out there for hours just with him. I probably heard this story because of what happened as a result. So terrible when you've got the other enemy the whole time. Well anyway.

I know. The "teamwork" thing rarely seems to be actualized in reality, but my original point was that the military has been promoting it for ages now. They've been telling soldiers to not be racist and sexist for a long time. "Privilege walks" (assuming there is such a thing) and that might be new, but there's not a member of the military that's serving now that hasn't been sitting through multiple anti-racist/anti-sexist briefings for years. (Of course, too much of it gets treated with eye rolls and a "we're only doing this because we have to" attitude that uncuts it all, so there's still beaucoup racism and sexism in the military.)

I am quite sure it was already there.

Shit like that gets the whole group pegged as a conspiracy of whodunit in most copraganda shows. You'd think these idiots would know better just from pop culture but we are talking about people who think Superman is obviously a right wing nut job, so yeah...

I wonder if Cotton ever heard of the Vietnam War?

It's pretty clear that racism and sexism existed in the military well before the Biden administration. The greatest proof of that is veteran Tom Cotton.

' joining the armed services amounted to "indoctrination."'OMD! Indoctrination?!Duh! The name of the course I had to endure at Maxwell AFB before doing my military scholarship payback was called "Military Indoctrination for Medical Service Officers." Sooo painful to be made aware of one's privilege or remember to ask for permission or consent.

How could someone "freshly recruited" be filing for separation? I thought there was some stop-loss thing they had going on.

Uh Oh, Cat was sitting in my lap when doggo came in my room and there was hissing and barking. Thank goodness I was wearing pants

How can anyone claim that there has not been racism in the military, when units used to be segregated?

"a general officer referred to "the entire U.S. as racist""... I don't see the problem with this statement
