The Washington Examiner is owned by the fascist billionaire Philip Anschutz, who also owns Neil Gorsuch and a fairly hefty chunk of Donald. Whatever is Anschutz up to here? This reeks of billionaire back room games.

1999? It seems remarkable that the athlete in question pled guilty, which kind of makes me suspect there was a little more to it than "she looked 18".

About 1965 I was sitting in the Youth Group (Sunday School for adolescents) in my Southern Baptist church. The Youth Group leader, the minister's son-in-law, explained why proper behavior on a date was important. "I'd go as far as a girl would let me, on a date. But I wouldn't marry her afterward, because she wouldn't be pure."

Now, I was a 13 year-old male piglet in the Before Times, but that was so patently unfair* that I got up and walked out, and never went back, no matter how much my parents threatened me. They did allow me instead to sit in on the adult "bible studies" that happened at the same time**.

* I didn't think that making your girlfriend lose at tennis was very manly, either.** I went to Youth Group, Church, Evening Church Services, and Wednesday Night Prayer Meetin'. Not by choice.
