The whole entire wingnut blogosphere "disrespecting The President while we're at war" IS treasonous, and helping ISIS/Russia/Ebola -- if you were applying the same Rightwing Rules as when Bush was president.
It's been a long time, but as I recall, the hand salute is only rendered when you are in uniform. So Preznits shouldn't be returning salutes at all, ever.
That's my recollection of the AF, as well. In the case of the POTUS, I'd even suggest that the salutes being rendered are similar to when the flag passes: you hold it until the guy has gone by.
