Talk about a victory for government ethics! If the fund hasn't made any loans, then it certainly can't have made any shady loans, either!
Stephen Colbert, on The Colbert Report, expressed his support for a bill in a southern state letting four-year-olds get hunting licenses: "Nation, I support this bill. You can't fail a background check if you don't have a background."
For some reason, he must not have wanted that branch of his family to have any descendants, but he sure as hell wasn't going to pass up the chance to fuck his sister in law.
Because doing the right thing goes against everything they stand for ergo they are incapable. As long as they spin a few tales of how they saved billions from falling into the hands of those filthy libs and poors it's all good with their incompetent boob supporters.
Everett Dirksen (R, Illinois) coined this phrase (millions at the time) and was a sane Republican. By current standards, he would be a left-winger.
We have become way too casual with a trillion. For perspective, that is a stack of $100 bills 670 miles long. That’s from Chicago to Philly, roughly. I got this from Reagan, though he used a stack of $1,000 bills 67 miles high. The calculation checks out.
That reminds me. The Big Insurance Company cut me a refund check that I need to deposit. “Refund” because fewer claims due to Covid. I suspect the amount could be higher, but “I don’t have facts to back this up.” (Quote from Herman Cain.)
Jeremy is like the kind of asshole that I actually like. He reminds me of some relatives or coworkers, smart, accomplished, entirely too full of themselves, but actually a lot of fun to be around most of the time.
I suspect he would be very different were he an American though, because I don't think it's possible to be a conservative in the US without being completely anti-intellectual anymore, there just won't be any actual smart people on the right who aren't otherwise flawed (i.e. intelligent in many respects but toxic racism prevents any chance of academic positions).

I don’t mind the squirrels stealing birb food. There’s one with a scrawny tail that I have christened Bushy.
